  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I started shopping for a Telluride last summer. I put a deposit down May 2022 and gave a build for a 2022. I got a call back a week later saying they weren't doing 2022s and I would have to do a 2023, but the order sheets weren't out yet. I was finally able to place an order in October 2022. It's now July and I don't have a VIN number or any information at all other than they said "hopefully August." From reading the boards on this site, that doesn't sound normal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

See if you can place an order with another dealership. I had a great experience with Kia of Muncie (Indiana) and I have read on here that people have had good experiences with Albany (also selling at MSRP). Seems like a very long time. I custom-ordered from Muncie and it was delivered to the dealership 45 days later (2023 SXP).

Good luck

Or look through here...

Sounds like you need to get your down payment back and find a new dealer. The dealership I went thru (Bloomington IL) wouldn’t even take a deposit until they knew they had an allocation to place the order. Once my allocation came thru, it only took about 6 weeks for the car to arrive.

That does sound like a longer wait than usual. It's frustrating when there are delays in car orders. I'd recommend reaching out to your dealership for a status update. Ask for a more specific timeline and inquire if there have been any production or supply chain issues causing delays. Patience is key in these situations, but it's also important to stay informed about the progress of your order. Good luck, and I hope you get your Telluride soon!
