Lhutch, sorry about that - I just updated my signature to reflect that information. The VIN was created Oct 3. It showed up at the dealer Oct 26. That is a VERY quick turn - I have seen gaps of 6 weeks on many of the cars that I looked into. I was flexible about color; my major requirement was SX AWD TOW, and I would have jumped on everlasting silver, dark moss or sangria as well. Considered white and black copper too, but honestly I liked the wolf gray the best. So on trend. I was willing to take prestige but my wallet is glad that this car came along. I didn't need heated second row and like all black interior, so the only major things i missed out on were the rain sensing wipers and the heads up display. Good luck in your search!

Quick questions...
-How do you know that it’s your Telly that you ordered on failcat? I ordered my Telly 4/9 and am second in line to be sent to the factory, hopefully next week. I just want to make sure I’m on top of things since I’ve been waiting so long.
-How do you put all the information about date ordered and ETA/Delivered etc. on your posts?

I did not order a vehicle. I looked on FailCat every day, and sorted by the configuration that I wanted. Then I got on the phone to dealers who did not charge above MSPR to check if those had already been sold, or were still available. I got lucky yesterday as I called a dealer I hadn't spoken with yet, and they JUST got an unclaimed wolf gray SX in - that is the one I bought. Onto your second question - while logged in, go to upper right corner and click on your 'name'. Theres a few options there - click on 'signature' and you can write anything you want (and change it as often as you want!).

IMHO , the marketing guy at Kia Canada is a bone head , I've had a few conversations with him from early days trying to get color confirmations when I was pre ordering my Stinger and again when the "no blackwheel option" appeared for the Telly launch

Running board / side steps self install tips

Do you have to cut any of the body side molting to install these? Many aftermarket running boards say you need to cut out pcs. of the black cladding! Also, Kia needs to offer a Nighfall Addition running board set, all black! there is nothing you have to cut~ just simple unclip and assemble side...

For what it's worth, our Wolf Gray was estimated to be ready around Feb, 2021, but has moved up to the last week of the year. Still don't see it in Failcat, but wonder if people canceled theirs or if Kia is just ahead on production. Stoked either way.

I'm so nervous to order one just to get it in feb or March....
Just for me to see 2022 previews and then want that.

If I can find a wolf grey without an outrageous mark up then ill grab it. But idk how I feel about ordering

Honestly if I had to get one now , I would wait to get the 2022. You may get more features and there is a wait anyways..so place order early next year so it gets converted to 2022 unless KIA is gonna speed up their builds.

Exactly, even before Covid shut down the Georgia plant, I think the 2021s were set to launch around September if I'm remembering right. If you're willing to wait 11 months or more, more power to ya.

In our consumerism-drive world, I've often found that, within context of the Diderot Effect, there's never a "perfect time" to buy a TV or a new PC or (as im now learning) a car. The next year will always have improvements. And when we drive ours off the lot in a couple months, if someone were to ask me "whats wrong with the Telluride you're driving now?" any answer besides "nothing" is an application of that effect.

The Wolf Grays are occasionally arriving at dealers unclaimed. It takes some work to find them, but they are out there. That is how I got mine. If a little time on the phone yields the car and price that you want, why not try instead of waiting for your order to come in? Maybe put a $500 deposit on an order and be willing to walk away from that deposit if something comes in unclaimed that works for you. Just a thought. I would hate to wait for my Telly. Makes it understandable why people do end up paying markup. Patience has a price, I guess.
