• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The underrated and well-priced OEM Carpeted Cargo Mat w/ Seat Back Protection (which also does the 60/40 split) is available in the US for less than half the price of the Canadian "all-weather" mat and works just fine and has the best edge-to-edge fit, attachment, and protection, which is why they have it offered as a factory-installed option here in the United States. Around $100, Kia Motors America should just include this with the SX Prestige Package.

There is one other thing I'd add to the "could be improved" column. The seal at the bottom of the doors isn't very good. In fact, it sucks. The inside of the bottom of the doors always gets very dirty, even from normal driving. There is a rubber seal at the bottom, but it is very flay and doest seem to seal at all. Anyone else notice this? I've been thinking about looking for a larger, more robust replacement rubber seal to see if I can mitigate the problem.

Yes, same with the trunk door. I get pine needles and other debris in through those seams all the time. Not all the way into the trunk, but underneath the edges of the door and around the tail lights

I've posted this little annoyance before, but not within this string. I'd like for the button on the power liftgate to also be able to lock the car as it closes. Most other lux SUV's either have two separate buttons (one being a lock), or 2 quick presses of one button will lock the entire vehicle. Today, I get around this shortcoming by locking the doors after I've opened the liftgate. Then when I'm unloaded and I push the liftgate button, it locks automatically with the rest of the car.

One other little thing - hanging hooks in the back cargo area are not provided. They would be convenient to have when hanging a clothes bar or similar. Today, I hang all my dry cleaning from one of the backseat overhead door handles.

I installed these and they work great!

Note that there is a newer model;

Amazon pop up says the newer model you listed is NOT compatible with a 2021 Telluride. Is that incorrect?

It says the same thing for the older version I bought, but others had tried them before me and they work just fine. I suspect (can’t guarantee) but I suspect the newer version would work despite what Amazon says.

Best to check with your local Kia parts departments

My list of little things after a month of ownership:

  • Regular fuel - My previous car needed premium fuel and had worse fuel economy.
  • Clown car - We took family to dinner. The Telluride’s ability to swallow 5 adults and 2 kids is impressive. Ingress and egress were easy and not awkward. Also, the captain’s chairs proved to be a great choice — no one felt disconnected during the ride.
  • Steering column aligned to driver seat - I drove a relative’s Tahoe and felt the steering wheel was to the right of me. Some reading revealed that others felt the same. I won’t take it for granted anymore that the steering column is centered!

I agree with everything on your initial list @BasilFawlty. Thanks for putting that together.

The main nit that I have relates to the second row captains chairs. We have a car seat in the third row so we frequently utilize the one touch button to slide the second row captain's chairs forward. I really wish the captain's chairs would slide forward (as they do now) and then lock in the furthest forward position until the one touch button is pressed again.

I cannot count how many times I have started up the Telluride and driven out of my driveway only to hear the all too familiar sound of the unlocked captain's chair sliding forward/backward on the seat rail. Fortunately my arm is *just* long enough to reach back and slide the captain's chair into the locked position from the driver's seat, although I always feel like I am mere inches away from pulling at least three different muscles during that process.

The buttons surrounding the round nob on the center console area behind the gear shift is a little too sensitive for me, as I usually try to lay something down on it such as the keys or phone or something else I might have in my hand. this can make me inadvertently and unknowingly depress one of the buttons. It’s taken me six months, but I’m just now remembering to not lay something there…. Most of the time😒

I tend to put loose stuff on the charging pad. That space holds a lot! 😉

My two issues at this point are:

1. The wireless charger works so poorly it isn’t even worth trying to use it. My phone gets hot, but the battery barely charges.

2. My previous car (Honda Pilot) had a hatch where the glass section could be opened separately even when the hatch is closed. That was a great feature, especially when trying to pack a family for vacation or when using the rear hitch. I wish the Telluride had that.

The charger in my telly actually charges the phone pretty good. It does get hot, but my wireless that I have in the house also gets hot quite a bit.

I have just recently started Haddonfield the charging compartment for storage, too, but, I still forget sometimes, and still use the area around the buttons.

I wish I could use the charger but my iPhone 12 Max Pro won't fit 🤓

Just got back from a 1300 miles trip home form the dealer. So far, few things that got my attention:

Where is the Home button on the infotainment. Shouldn’t there be a dedicated button, instead of the tiny logo on the screen? I don’t think Home was a choice to program the favorite button (star).

the windows are super sensitive. Accidentally rolled down a little at 80mph and it wouldn’t roll back up all the way. Told my wife to roll all the way down and hold 3 seconds and roll it back up and it closed all the way. Thx for the info on here or else it would have been a long noisy trip 😁

There are multiple camera views that can be brought up on demand. Really handy for snug situations! Mine is an SXP… these camera views may or may not be on some trims.

pulled into the garage the first time and parking assistance activated. Next thing I see the front camera shows my pinball machine. Awesome!

As you've probably already surmised from the many posts on this forum - that window issue is a known problem. I would say it is a design flaw that Kia really should figure a solution for and maybe even do a recall.

You can actually program the favorite button to Home. I actually did that since I couldn't figure out a way to get to the Home screen on Apple CarPlay without having to click through multiple screens. Maybe others can provide feedback if there's another optimized way to get to the KIA Home Screen without having to take up the favorite button for that command.

Will try again. I only had time to play with the car during restroom breaks 😁

thx
