• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all!

Our 2021 SX has about 45k miles on it and we're planning to do our first big towing adventure (probably around 2-3k miles of towing in total). I'd like to make sure I don't end up with transmission issues on the road so I'm planning on getting my automatic transmission drain + flush done before we head out.

My question is if that service needs to be done at a Kia dealer? Or is it doable by a local shop (who say 'yes we can do that')? Thank you in advance for the wisdom!

I would get it done at a local trusted shop. No need for the dealership. I would places and see what they charge and see which one is cheaper.

Thank you for your response. Should it be a drain and fill or a drain and flush?
