Once sold I can not tell. I don’t think a dealer can sale it without disclosing and giving you the 2k rebate

Stephen, it's your local pest again. Thanks again for your assistance in getting me on the right track, after finding out I'd chosen the wrong dealer. I did get my deposit back and have moved forward with a more local dealer.

To that end, I placed my order on June 14th, after a slight snag with the new dealer, something about them having to wait a week to place orders again. With these folks, I was pleased I did I did not have to put down a deposit. The young salesman said I should be able to get my new car within 2 months. Sure enough, Saturday, July 8th, he called with an ETA of 8/15. Through discussion, we agreed it could come sooner, and further agreed it could come between August 1 and 15.

My question to you is, he could not give me a VIN number at this time, and I found that odd. It's my understanding the VIN isn't created until the unit goes into paint, so maybe he really doesn't have it yet, however, he acted as though they don't get that info, maybe until transport. Please advise.

So far I'm quite pleased with the new salesman. I told him I want him following me through the entire process. He assured me he'd stay close.

VIN will be available in his internal system on Paint In date.
