Track my vehicle

Hi there. Just checking my Eta again... 5XYP5DHC8NG309240? We've had to change our flights and hotels 4 times now, this is starting to get a bit ridiculous. Most recently it was the 24th, then 30th, now they're saying 09/07. Is there a Kia phone number customers can call to help expedite delivery or voice their frustration? We can't continue to not make plans for specific time frames with kids, sports, etc to then have the date pushed. Our car has been in Colorado for 3 weeks now. Ordered in February.

Sorry, I'm just venting Stephen but any insight would be appreciated. Do dealers typically offer to help with anything if the date keeps being missed? Shipping costs, hotel, etc? Thanks in advance.
My 2 cents. In the past, I've told members of the forum not to book trips until the vehicle actually shows - you never know what is going to happen. If you watch the forums, there have been quite a bit of hold-ups in rail yards. That is where your vehicle is sitting. There is nothing that the dealer can do until trucking is arranged by Kia. I'm guessing that the cost of any travel changes are on you because you booked the travel yourself. My big question is, since I ordered a backup from them in January, how was your February order fulfilled first (unless you moved up due to a cancellation.....)? Not really a big deal since I was hoping for a '23 to compare with the 22 I just picked up. Will sell the one we don't like. :ROFLMAO:

ETA showing 09-06 as of today... unfortunately this does happen..

Typically nothing a dealer can do and no way to expedite.. at the mercy of them unloading the Telluride off the train and lining up transport via truck

@StephenCantrelle Can you please update me on 5XYP5DHC4NG311809? Dealer is now showing 9/10. Thanks in advance!
Showing In Transit to dealer with ETA of 09-11 as of today

Thanks for the two cents ;) Yeah I fully understand there's been back ups, etc. Been lurking for a while. I've waited this long so it's not that bad in the bigger picture. I guess the major issue I have is the cost of booking "when the car shows up". Tickets and hotel rooms are double if not triple when you wait till the day of.
I totally get the cost is on me because I chose to book the travel...but what else are we to do as customers when dates continue to move? I just figured the dealership might offer something for the troubles...but they're not in the business of giving money away lol.

As far as your car from January, could be my combo of color and pkg was more available first? I also wanted to place an order for a 23 but my sales guy says absolutely don't until the 23 info etc is announced/populated. He said it's very likely I'd get another 22 if I placed an order/deposit now. I thought getting back in line would be best but he says no. Might just be smoke though as I can't imagine placing an order and getting it within two months.

Gotcha, thanks Stephen. I totally get it, just frustrated. Guess there's a point where I should've prob just paid the additional charge over msrp and gotten the car in Texas lol. Also do the cars actually sit on trains until loaded?

Ours is sitting in a rail drop off 30 miles from the dealership. Its been there since 7/31/22. They bumped the date 4 times now. Was supposed to be the 31st to arrive now moved to 9/7/22. The lady at the dealer shows us the info she gets. Said its transit issues.
What dealer did you use? My telluride at Fowler has the same ETAs as you and keeps getting bumped. It is SO frustrating that it is sitting so close to the dealership, while we wait and wait!

Pros and cons to paying over and just having in your driveway in a shorter time. I honestly have no idea how it works at the trainyards.

Diehl Kia, Hermitage, PA. We are going on a month its been sitting there. 4 times date has changed. We want to sell our car but need to wait for the Kia. Frustrating.

Can you check to see if it's in transit yet? I'm really hopeful I won't be waiting for it to be picked up for month. Thank you!

I don't ship cars via train, but I ship steel via train. With steel in containers, it works very similar to cargo ships. They unload them as the darn well please and don't prioritize anything except what benefits them. I've had coils of steel sitting at the railyard 2 miles from my plant for a full week and until they make the decision to unload the railcar, there is nothing you can do to retrieve it. They didn't care if it shut down my OEM, they made the steel mill truck additional coils from Alabama to Michigan. Wasn't their problem, nor is the a guarantee. Intermodal freight is just much cheaper than by semi.

I totally agree. It's a choice we make. Just for our info, what's your dealer mark up over msrp (if you're aloud to say)? Interested on where different dealers are and what mark ups they have. In my surrounding area it goes from $5k to $16k.

Is it a good thing that the ETA has stayed 9/5 since it went in transit or should I expect this to change?
