If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all,

I currently have a 2020 Telluride SX Ebony Black , Espresso brown interior with low mileage and I am procrastinating whether I should privately sell or trade it in for an upgrade to the Black Edition(NightSky) edition here in Canada. Is it possible to get close to MRSP at dealership due to the rarity of vehicle on the Canadian market ?

All hints and tips are welcomed

Thanks

John

Hi, I highly doubt any dealership would give you close to MSRP on a trade in. You'd be best off to just put it up for sale online and see what happens. See how much interest you get at what price to help you decide what to do.

Better to trade, as in this case there will be big savings in tax. The tax will be paid only on the difference which = the price of a new car - the price of your car.
Decide how much you want to receive and call dealers. Get it, change it. If the dealer doesn't give your price, ask his final price, then choose the best one.

You have 2 cars for sale in your province:
46 and 50. which is 46 - no service history.

I think you can ask dealers 47-48
The dealer will sell yours at a 2K markup and sell you a new one.
Don't forget the tax difference.

Thanks Kwim, good tip especially on tax savings!

There’s a good chance the difference you make by selling vs trading in will outweigh the tax savings though.

I’m seeing a bunch of used Tellurides here selling for as much as a brand new car
