• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi! We have had our Telluride since last June and we love it. However about a month ago we had trouble starting it and different warning icons and lights would go on. We thought perhaps the computer system was having problems. We brought it in and nothing was wrong, although they said the battery was a little low. It was charged and was fine. Last night it wouldn’t start again, but finally did after about 10 minutes. However, the driver’s window would not close completely. We will bring it in this next week, but we wondered if anyone else has had problems like this.
Thanks,
Mpsmith

Welcome. Just letting you know that I've moved this topic out of the community lounge and into the Telluride section...

Things don't work right when the battery is low/bad. It has happened to multiple people on this forum.

Yes, I have had the ame problem since November. I took my Telluride into have recall work done and I've had to jump start it every day since. (Yes, it has a new battery). The dealer will not take responsibility for their mistake and even kept my car for 5 days and said that there is no problem. But when I got in it to leave, all the defaults were so, I know for a fact that the battery died while it was with them. They had no problem lying straight to my face. I've involved the NHTSB, BBB, FCPB and the CA. BAR with no luck so far. I just hope the accelerator doesn't continue to stick especially if I happen to be pulling into said dealership. Not to mention my broke ass sunroof I've been fighting with them since September. We really loved this car when we first got it but now, we will never, ever, ever buy another Kia. Good luck with your issue. BTW..have them look at the modular 9 fuse going to the LDC assembly, might have something to do with it.

Did a new battery work for you??
Curious if the batter replacement solves the issues? My 2020 telluride is doing these exact same things and the dealership literally lied to my face as well saying there’s no issues.
I want to take these threads and show them that it’s indeed a huge issue and I have a video.

There is a very small percentage of telluride owners on this website. So it is not really a huge issue. I understand you are having problems, the right dealership makes the biggest difference. Try to get some videos to show them what is happening. Go to your local auto parts store and have them test your battery and make sure connections are tight and clean.

Have you put a new battery in yet? If not, DO NOT go to the dealer. They charge $450 for a regular interstate battery made by Exide. That's what my dealership charged anyway, plus $100 labor to install it. What a joke. I got one at Autozone for $300 which is still ridiculous, and installed it myself in about 10 minutes. If a new battery doesn't work for you, get back to me.

I'm willing to bet that if every owner reported this problem to the NHTSB there would be a recall on it for this problem. Just not everyone knows how to, or won't take the time to report it. Reporting to the NHTSB is a pain in the ass, but it's operated by the government so that's to be expected. I believe dealerships and some certified shops have to report things to the NHTSB but I'm not 100% sure about that. I know that they hadvto get the head engineer for the Telluride from Korea involved in my case and that guy new exactly what the problem was. I managed to get the transcript of the conversation.

What was the problem? Also have you reported this to the NHTSB?

Indeed I have reported to the NHTSB. In my case the issue was the IBU assembly unit behind the dash. The infotainment system and the HVAC tie into the IBU. Then pig tanks go from it, to the fuse panel. If memory serves, the gauges and steering wheel controls also go into the IBU. Can't remember exactly, I'm not 100%. I also reported my broke ass sunroof.
