Could you please tell us what speaker models you used and pictures of the work if possible? and were you able to get the volume up on the rear speakers?

I haven't started yet but will post pics. The speakers I have are MTX Terminator 6.5" .

Just a update and a few pics. I ran my power wire through a grommet under driver dash. I will be cutting speaker wires at amp. I ran 8 pairs of speaker wires on the right side, 4 for the input to the LC6i and 4 for the return from the amp to feed speakers and2 pairs for the subwoofer input to LC6i. Also, 2 RCAs ( input and output) for a generic bass knob. All equipment is in the storage compartment in back. Will power up and test on the weekend.

wow nice. Please let us know how it’s sound. Does the storage compartment lid rattle when the bass is on?

Well found some time to power up and test. It sounds way better than stock, my little 8" woofer gives it a nice. The only thing I noticed was, the front highs are lower than the rear highs. This is due to the fact that the rear tweeters are paralled to the rear door speakers which are amplified from my Kenwood. The front highs are separate signal coming from the stock amp. Check diagram I posted earlier. To solve this I can just parallel the front highs with the front door speakers. Good luck on your install hoped this helped.

Oh yes the storage compartment does vibrate but because of the carpet I didnt really notice a rattle driving home listening quite loud. Then again my tool bag and drill bag were on top. If you play the music you can feel it shaking.

Couple of questions; Even with the lid over it does it muffle the bass sound? and also does it cause overheating to the amp if indeed it is covered by the lid?, did you have to remove any of the carpet to bring over the wires from the front of the vehicle to the back?... I've noticed a couple of people place the amp under the driver/front passenger seat is there any particular reason you didn't go that route? (Just curious) Veryyyy excited to start on my Telly since I adore great sounding music.... aside from all that Kudos to your sound system!

I don't notice a muffle with the bass, I will however test it with the sub out side of the storage compartment and let you know if there is a difference.
I have had this setup in a Traverse and MDX and never had a issue with amp over heating, this Kenwood has a internal fan to keep it cool.
No carpet was removed at all, all wires were ran at the sides. I did have to remove the back bench to access the screws for the back side moulding. I started to remove some of it but was too hard so I just fished the wires while prying it back a little.
I didn't place the amp under sit simply because of accessibility. If for any reason I had to get to it I didn't want to unbolt the seat and because this worked for me in my previous 2 installs.
Thanks and post your setup when you finish

Thanks, writeup could be better. It makes more sense when you get your speakers out and look at them. Will be posting updates as i go. Adding 2 amps and a 12" sub.

I see the kilmat working behind the scenes in a few of your images.

Did you remove the inner door skin by removing the hex nuts to expose the door to entirely kilmat or were you just able to cram some into the speaker hole as best you could?

The kickers are order - hopefully installing them this weekend.

I reached through the holes as best i could, got probably 80% of the door that way. Folded larger pieces like a taco, sticky side out and got them in that way.

Thanks for this thread...trying to decide between Polk DB 652 and Infinity REF6532EX. Sound isn't totally terrible but that said, I've never regretted a speaker upgrade one bit. Even the wife can't argue once they get installed.

Hey everyone, does anyone know of a store where you can get just rear door speakers upgraded without cutting cables and stuff therein voiding warranty ? just looking for better sound in back seats without voiding warranty.... thanks in advance!
