Using key fob to lock/arm alarm

I recall reading somewhere on this site and wanted to verify what I read. I recall someone posting that when you lock the Telluride with the key fob, it doesn't arm the alarm, it only locks the doors. That doesn't sound right to me...…...

The manual does say that locking the doors with the key fob arms the theft alarm in step four. The only thing it doesn’t make perfectly clear is if locking the car with the button on the door handle is mandatory first. I doubt this would be the case though as locking with the handle button and key fob second would be excessive.

It does arm the system. Per the manual. Or you can push button on door handle. That also arms system.
