• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just curious for those who went thru this what your experience has been on the new engine? Did you file a claim and how that went? In reading the latest NHTSA data, only 111 out of 2,872 recalled Tellurides have not had their engine replaced…mine is one of those 111 or shall I say was one…I think what pisses me off is I probably got more miles on my 2024 then anyone with over 35k…I purely believe any faulty valve spring would have failed by now…the vehicle has been to the dealer five times for other recalls and maintenance but then I take in for routine oil change and bam, we cannot let you have this back and they gladly provided a rental and I have zero issues with the dealership and as they explained, your VIN is scanned each time you bring in and Kia allows us to release back to you but now flagged it…so perhaps they didn’t want people waiting for months so the release so many new engines and its a lottery based on when or who shows up at a dealer for anything but what is pathetic is to say it’s an engine safety thing and we cannot allow back out so if that’s the case then why did you allow me to drive another 30k in miles from the first time I brought in for recall…it’s still in the shop and I have contacted KIA and stated my concerns and my desires but for those thinking you make out cause now you got a new engine, go have an honest conversation with multiple Kia dealers or other mfr dealers and see how they approach valuation of your vehicle given the engine replacement…people can read a carfax and clearly knows the engine was replaced and I have gotten honest feedback and every single source including Kia shows more depreciation than if no replacement was done…only thing good you got going is a 100k warranty but I’m on the fence on the next step as I was seriously considering the new Hybrid which is supposedly out in a few months

Maybe it's in another thread.
What issue triggered the engine replacement, or did you take it in with a recall letter ??

I took the thing in when it was first recalled with the recall letter and they stated it was not needed at this time…then it went in every single time for maintenance and recalls and the paperwork states SC296 recall complete no engine needed at this time…then Kia flagged it and from what I can see they report quarterly to NHTSA on the status of the recall and my guess is they were only flagging vehicles when they had engines to ship out as mine was received two days later but my point is if you were so hell bent on replacing and it’s a safety issue I’m not letting me have it back then why did you wait till I had over 35k miles and then flag it…

Kinda sounds like how the air bag recall went.
Letters were sent out,.....................a year later the replacement parts showed up..
