• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does anyone have stains on your Captain seats after putting on the ventilated seats? Both of my seats have brown stains the size of a golf ball on the butterscotch leather.

What the heck? Was there some kind of treatment that got inside the seat and now it’s being pushed out by the ventilation? I don’t even know if that’s possible, how bizarre.

Sorry to hear, have any pics? Rear seats or front? Butterscotch doesn't come with rear ventilated seats. Maybe the Dune Brown leather?

Doesn’t sound normal. Two things that might have occurred:
  1. The person who was sitting on the seat while the ventilated seats probably rubbed something off from his/her pants or spilled something and blamed it on the ventilated seats.
  2. If it truly was caused by ventilated seats while running maybe something had previously spilled into the vent openings beforehand. Somebody wiped the seat surface clean. Then the vent motors blew all that residue back up upon the next use.

Was this after the first ever use or did it happen after months of owning the car or gradually over time?

The seat behind the passenger happened a couple of days after it was used and

My 13 yr old daughter is the one that usually sits in that seat and that's not that often. I have asked her multiple times if she has spilled anything and she hasn't and I am the one driving her around so I know she hasn't spilled anything. If something was spilled, I would of known because she would of gotten her clothes wet and why would it be just the left side of the seat. The ventilated seats were used and then the marks came around a week later, not something spilled and then the seats were on and it forced something out.

We had no treatment done on the seats and I don't see how if something spilled it would of stained the seats. To me it looks like some kind of chemical that came out but they said there's no ventilation on the side just the middle panels.

Most likely not an issue w/seat ventilation. The stain on the right rear seat is in an area where there is no ventilation. The ventilation is on the seat bottom only. Not in the area where the seat belt is connected.

It looks like it could be from either liquid or a hot spot in the seat heaters.

defect. I had an identical problem on Hyundai a long time ago, the interior was white, for 6 months on the back bench, the leather cover was stained and it was this bluish color. replaced under warranty.
