VIN to Delivery Time

So my VIN showed up on Sept. 30 and my ETA is Nov. 15. When is the VIN created in the process? Seems like a very long time to get a vehicle to the dealer Once the process has started.

For those of you that have taken delivery, how long did you wait after seeing your VIN Until it arrived at the dealer?

The KIA plant in Georgia ships by truck and rail. Depending on your location will be the way it is shipped. From what I have seen the truck deliveries from the plant have the shortest transit time. The rail transport still has to be finally shipped by truck so it is a extra step in the delivery process. So the time from VIN to delivery can be from a month to 2 months.

I have an SX/PT ordered so I’m sure that made a difference. Looks like it will be 5 1/2 -6 months for me

Just joined. Ordered a Telluride back in August; still waiting. Is there a website one can go to that allows you to track ETA and delivery info once a VIN has been assigned?

Stephen works for a Kia dealer in TX and is extremely valuable to these forums.
