• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... When I use Bluetooth to play music, if I press the volume rocker it will pause what is playing. If I’m using CarPlay and press the volume rocker, it will mute what is playing not stop what is playing. I hope I explained that right.

Is this normal? Is there a setting I need to change to get it to pause while in CarPlay?

Thanks in advance.

You ever get an answer for this? It drives me crazy that I can’t easily pause CarPlay, especially when plugging in the phone the next day and it randomly plays something from iTunes (which I never use).

You can always just press the volume knob on the dash. May not be quite as close as the steering wheel, but works.

Another way to pause Carplay music with steering wheel controls are the voice command button and the Mode button to change audio source. But to resume playback you would need to use the main screen, phone or Siri.

Settings>Music>Show Apple Music (toggle this off)

If you do not want Apple music app to autoplay in your car.
