Waiting period for Telluride Sx.

I had ours undercoated using NHOil Boss Wax to combat rust.

I was suppose to get delivery on Thursday Jan 28 but I got a call from my dealer that there was mistake at their end that my telluride is still in transit and ETA is Feb5.It was shocking to hear when all the paper was signed on Friday 21 and dealer was sleeping rather that checking and confirming VIN no in stock.

Is there any way to track the delivery through VIN and also to know the interior and exterior color through VIN.

I am surprised that dealer had 3 day after signing the paper.work to deliver the car and also he has to put winter tires he was sleeping all these days and woke up all of a sudden when person is on the way to get his delivery.

Find a better dealer. Should be 4-6 months at the longest. Some are 1-2 months wait.

They said if I got a lower end package they could get one n that time frame, but they had 33 orders in front of me and with the 2022 is coming out, they think the current wait time is 2 years.

That's well and good if you are committed to that dealer. There are other dealers out there that can order an SX for you in a lot shorter time frame. There are lots of sources on this forum if you search the threads.

We are now at month 6 of the wait for an SX AWD. Second delay in May and now they said it will be a 2022 model. Probably 12 months when it's all said and done.

I switched dealerships and realized that this IS dealer dependent. Apparently, though, I'm being told that different colors are hard to get ahold of even if you order them. Have you heard this?

I have to wonder if the interior color isn't a factor also. I see tons of black but very few of the other interior colors.

I wanted wolf gray. I think it must be the light gray interior that was the delay, but that's just a guess. I asked for black and crossed my fingers.

How much did you pay to get that done? Can I get that after I receive my vehicle or that's something after the sell that I can do?
