• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What is this? (Rust?)

Thanks - i'll take a better run at cleaning this and see if it can get it off. Its the fact that it looks like its oozing out from the colored part to the silver part that concerns me. It also seems like a gritty substance (as you can see on the driveway). Seems sandy.

Follow @raydog9379 advice and get the iron remover. I've used the product from Adams polishes, but Chemical Guys or other equivalent should be fine.

Update - I took to the dealer (as my brother is in sales) and their detailing guys worked on the car for a good two hours. Ultimately if they can get a brush/rag on it it comes off easily, but will not come off with any type of wash. They used magic eraser and some other "friendly" products to get off about 75% of it but the stuff that's deep in the mouldings just wont come out. Obviously the plastic is harder to clean than the car paint/grill etc.
Its at the point where I will probably just have to take a small brush (toothbrush?) and hit every inch by hand. Nobody at the dealer had any idea what the substance is and were actually floored at how difficult it was to remove.

I would be SO frustrated...not at the dealership because they are really trying, but at the horrible bad luck to have this happen! Sorry you have to go through this....
