If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Why the price now is so much higher than MSRP?

Hi. I am located in the greater Houston area. I’ve asked several dealers for quotes on a 2021 Kia Telluride. They gave me drive out prices around 40k! That’s so much more than the MSRP price. And the invoice price is only around 31k.
Could someone explain this to me? I’ve bought a car before(Honda) and I got it for below invoice price.
TIA

A few things here:
1) you may be slightly misinformed. The base LX model MSRP is even above your $31k figure mentioned.
2) Depending on trim, that $40k figure you were given is on point. ~$40k +/- $7-9k (yes, a big span depending on trim level) is your target OTD price. There’s a lot of unknowns here (we don’t know what trim you’re looking at)
3) buying this vehicle below MSRP / at invoice isn’t a thing right now - simple laws of supply and demand. Wait a bit and prices will come down

If you're active duty or retired military you can get $400 off MSRP. Not a huge amount when you're spending over $40k but I'll take it!

agreed (I fall into this category).
