• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Put my order in and paid my $1000.00 deposit on December 20th, 2019. I have yet to receive any notification on the status of my order. I had expected not to receive the vehicle until the end of May or sometime in June. I wonder if the corona virus will push production delays even more. I know Korean production has been hit hard but have not seen anything saying USA Kia production being affected. I am very patient and know I will be waiting at lease a total of 6 months but not sure if I can be patient enough to wait 8, 9 10, 12 months for a vehicle. My family is already using a secondary vehicle to get by but my wife is starting to want to think about looking at other vehicles. I am afraid if we don't get the vehicle by the end of June, I may forgo my $1000.00 down payment and look at something else. Maybe use that money towards the Sonata but not sure. Did not test drive a Sonata so would start all over.

I've been shopping for a new SUV. My interest in the Palisade quickly cooled when I learned about its' wind noise problems and then became much more interested in the Telluride with all it's great features ,looks and awards........... but then the turd in the punch bowl was the dozen or so reports I have read here about vibration/noise problems in the AWD drive train. So, it is a dilemma. Keep shopping other brands, wait to see what happens with the Corona virus, wait to see what happens with the Telluride problems, etc., or get in a long line and order now and gamble that I end up with a great vehicle with no major problems.

Yippee!! We just today got called from our dealer and he said they are starting production on our new white Telluride SXP Prestige. Getting tint on front windows, sideboards, grey Napa leather seats. They are putting auto start feature on our key fob. Not using that app thing. Said we are to get it in the sniffle of May 2020.

I read similar posts about the vibration issue but I believe that was more with the first production run vehicles. I just picked up an AWD Telly last weekend and it doesn't have any vibration issues that I have noticed yet.

How’d you go about getting them to put that on your fob? Congrats on getting one step closer! I’m expecting mine at the end of May.

I was crushed to hear the plant is closing today and not opening back until April 13th. So I do not expect to receive our Telluride until June. We were planning to take a vacation in June but no car and Covid-19, I doubt we get a chance to do a vacation.
In regards to the remote start. Our dealer works with a custom auto place in Wichita and they have experience adjusting the key fob to where you hit the lock button 3 times and it starts the car. We are also having the driver and passenger side windows being tinted so I think that will look cool.

Careful what you say about the Telluride. There are some who will label you a 'troll', and worse. I also have been reading about the negatives, not just the PR and 'my car is better than yours' crowd. If I buy a Telluride, it won't be until the 2021 model arrives. By thne, much will have been learned about this 'must have' vehicle.

So it is clear COVID affected production, and will likely affect it again given the state of things in Georgia. There were reports that they are working triple shifts to meet demand. Is anyone concerned about quality issues?

I believe they have been making them for about 18 months already so the kinks with production should be worked out. I think the bigger problem will be if the Component suppliers can keep up With the increased production. I think they know how to put them together and I hope the quality control inspectors don’t let slip through anything that is not up to standards.

QC issues are a lot more expensive to fix via the warranty channels then getting things right at the factory. I don't think there will be an issue there.

You don't get this many awards and start screwing around with Quality.

The million dollar question is COVID ripping through GA right now...and it's effect on the factory.

You both make good points, but isn’t the Covid effect and the quality interrelated? I am sure they have some redundancy, but what if a key employee Is out or team is Short handed? Or if they have to replace a short supply part with a lesser quality substitute? Those are my concerns.

In Troup and Harris County which is the general area where West Point is, there are about 5 cases per day being reported so its not so bad there as elsewhere in the state. In fact, most counties have already had the second peak and are declining in cases per week.

Great points. I am hopeful they get through this unscathed, but the southern states have a lot of ways to go. I guess for me, if I order today, it will likely be delivered early next year. So hopefully things normalize by then, including supply and demand.

Looks like they get at least one day off:Failcat1.webp

July was a very productive month with 3 weeks in a row over 1500 Tellys per week (2 were over 2000). That's the highest since February and 3 of the top 10 most productive week. Hoping an order today is probably is probably November depending on allocations.

I was told my ticket and a preliminary vin was assigned to us. We are to have it delivered sometime between August 15 to August 25th. Saw were the 2021 models now carry remote start on the Key fob. We were having that done anyway so just great that it comes from the factory.
