• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... First, please forgive me if I'm not posting this is the correct forum.

I’m not expecting my Telluride to arrive until late June, but I’m occupying myself by making a wish list of all the things I want to do/buy for my Telluride (it's becoming a lengthy list due to this awesome forum!). Top of the list for me is window tinting. I’d like to go as dark as possible without making myself a target for a fix-it ticket. California’s laws are super strict, so I’m hoping some of you can tell me how dark you’ve gone on your driver’s and passenger’s windows without getting into trouble. Also, have any fellow Californians done any tint at all on the front windshield? I’m definitely doing UV, but don’t know if I should risk darkening it a teeny-tiny bit. Thanks in advance for any tips!

I hesitated to do the tint but did light and medium on my cars anyway. I decided to do it because so many cars on the streets have tint so I figure cops don’t pull you over just for that. So far no ticket but it’s only been a few yrs.

My friend just bought a used car that came with very dark tint and he said he can’t see the curb well through the window at night during the turns and will have the tint redone in lighter color. It looks like limo dark, or at least dark. He did say it keep the interior cool though.

Your Telluride is beautiful! Mine will be white as well. Do you recall what tint percentage you got on the front windows? Did you add tint to the back windows and the windshield as well? Thanks for much for your feedback!

Getting our tint done tomorrow at mike's tint in orange county.
Think we are doing 35% with some possible ceramic on two front sides and 80% ceramic on front windshield.
Pricey but lifetime warranty, think around $600...

Did you get it done? I have a great guy I can recommend for Ceramic film tint. That includes both front windows and front windshield for a total of $410

What exactly ceramic window tint? I'm starting to think by adding the term "ceramic" to any car procedure doubles the price.

Well it’s a window tint for one. As far as the brand he uses it’s Madico. There are many different types of films and brands for sure. Ceramic Window Tint does not contain metal, dye, nor carbon, but instead a kind of ceramic particle that is both nonconductive and nonmetallic. Cost more than the regular dye film but definitely well worth it.
