• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Any one else having lots of issues with the windshield wipers? At about 5000 miles my windshield wipers started getting stuck in the upright position no matter what mode they were in. It progressively got worse and I ended up having to get the motor to the wipers replaced. I'm now at 8300 miles and the issue is starting to happen again. this time it only happens in auto mode and they get stuck in the upright position. When i go to turn the wipers off, regardless of whether they are in Auto, Low, or High, they automatically stop in the upright position and I have to wait until I come to a stop to get out of the car and push them back down.

Have never had that situation....apparently when they replaced the motor, that was the simplest "first effort" but obviously the issue is "control oriented" and involves a "tech" solution and those are never easy and require THEY know what they are doing. Hopefully you can get this corrected soon.....

Did you ever have the wipers replaced? I wonder if an inexperienced tech may have forced it out instead of putting them into the service position, which could be why the off position is stuck vertical.

Hmmmmm.....now there's a possibility!

This person had their control unit replaced under warranty. That sounds like the issue.

I haven't replaced the wipers yet

Same issue on S model that started at about 15k miles. When I go in for next free oil change I'll make sure to let them know it's an issue in advance of appointment. Mine only happens while on intermittent mode.

Possibly related, I posted now my passenger wiper is causing scratching of the windshield. I'm replacing the wiper blade but the original one looks fine. If I was to give an opinion, it looks like a combination of improper windshield tension against the window and the glass not having the required hardness. Plenty of posts about windows chipping breaking to find. Fortunately I have a $250 deductible so I will be following gravel trucks when the issue becomes more apparent!o_O

Not THAT makes sense because my wipers are shot and the guy that tried replacing them was relatively new. He said he had been told how to get them to stay up but couldn’t remember how 🤦‍♀️

Yes I have been having issues with mine since I've had the car but they can never reproduce the issue when I bring it in, it's frustrating!

Bringing my 2020 in today for the wiper issue. I intend to have the intermittent wipers on for at least a few minutes before I arrive since they've literally never operated normally for more than a couple minutes.

Update: I turned the int wipers on when I left home for the 30 minute drive to the dealer. NO MISHAP! Shocked as it happens so frequently when it's raining that I skip the intermittent and either pulse or go to low. But, that's when it's actually raining, which makes me wonder if the moisture is a factor in making the control module malfunction. I don't believe my 2020 EX has rain sensing wipers. Either way, the blades are stopping at completely random points in the cycle, which is no good.

Taking our 2020 SX into dealer next week for this. Happens randomly in rain with pulse, intermittent and low. Control unit or something sensor wise is jacked on these things.

have you had any luck getting this issue resolved? I have had mine in the shop 7 times and they have yet to get it fixed!

Sure would help to have more information. What year and model car? Is your problem with rain-sensing wipers? 7 times in for the same problem is a LOT. What is the service manager telling you? Have you considered taking it to another dealership for repair?

yes it is ALOT, I have had it at 2 different locations the first one did replace a multi function switch and it continued to do the same issues so I went to the second, where it has now been multiple times and they are telling me they can't recreate. I have pics and videos that have been sent but the issue is still happening and only on intermediate and it seems to be getting worse. I have a 2021 EX no rain sensing wipers

Perplexing to say the least - especially given that it is a MUCH simpler wiper system. Most people would have bet good money that the first dealer's change-out of the multi function switch would have fixed it.

As an aside - I have the rain-sensing and WOW do I love it. I love how it changes speed depending on the amount of downpour. I'll never have it set on anything else. It is ON all the time and only begins with the intermittent with the barest of sprinkle.

I am just so frustrated, it seems like they don't care. I am about ready to get rid of it over this whole taking time off running back and forth and no answers and no one really cares, I am afraid that it will do this in other speeds if not fixed and then what if it causes an accident they still don't care.... :(

I agree - you got a lemon. Ditch it.
