Just checked inventory in KIA website and over 50 Tellurides in the 100 mile area of DFW. Very few SX's but seems KIA is really pushing other trims from the factory, so hopefully more will be seen on the road. Be sure and check out each dealer for some do have a mark up and others seem to be fair. Good luck on finding a Telluride of your choice.

Im seriously looking around for one. But, we need a SX.....I know Classic in Carrollton will sell at MSRP, who else??

The Kia website doesn’t keep up with how many of those vehicles have been sold. Sometimes those sales aren’t updated for 4 to 18 days.

Yes, that's what I was told, or at least the excuse that was given. Earlier this week I went to 2 Kia dealers that showed online having 5 and 8 Tellurides. They actually had zero and 2 (except the SX had been driven home by the manager when I visited about 6:30pm, leaving just an LX on the lot.) "Sorry, the website only updates once a week." I don't get why it wouldn't update at least daily, hard to believe dealers don't internally update their inventory at least every night after close.

I then called ahead while driving to more dealerships, some were honest and said they didn't have any right now, but found 2 where the salespersons said they had 3 and 2. I arrived at each within 30 minutes of calling and found zero and 1. No way they sold 3 and 2 within 30 minutes. The one was parked in a back lot with little lighting. "Can you pull it out towards the lighting?" "I don't know where the fob is."

No idea why I keep hearing and reading how Kia and Hyundai dealership staff have such a negative reputation...

Oh no, thanks for speaking up and starting the thread, it helped get out more information.

No worries. It’s kind of unintentionally misleading to see inventory pop up that’s sold before it even hits the lot. If the dealer doesn’t have a real picture of the car sitting on the lot it’s probably gone. The ones that say “image coming soon” or have a stock photo are the ones to be wary of.

Scratch community Kia off your list. Baytown Texas tried to charge me 10K over MSRP for an SX

Ouch that is ridiculous. The government needs to get involved. This is price gouging

Had a call from my salesman, Rick at Morritz Kia in Ft Worrh wanting me to spread the word that he had several S models in stock. I was there on Wednesday picking up hood deflector when they were unloading full truck. Only saw one Moss Green SX, rest we’re S or EX.

IDK if you were serious about government intervention but that’s not going to happen.

Price gouging laws typically apply to essential items, ie, water, food, fuel, building materials, etc during time of emergencies, for example before and after a major hurricane, in and around the affected area. In essence the regulations are designed to severely limit the law of supply and demand (capitalism) temporarily for the greater good.

There are no emergencies that would qualify the Telluride as being essential. As much as we may want to make it criminal, “market adjusted price” isn’t a new phenomenon that KIA dealerships are starting. It’s been going on in the industry for a very long time.

MSRP means just that, a suggested retail price. KIA dealers can charge whatever they want because people are willing to pay whatever they ask.

Can anyone tell me if there is a dealer in the DFW metroplex that has a telluride available for a test drive? My wife likes them but is apprehensive to order one without seeing how big it feels on the road (she will be driving this car the most).

try Moritz in DFW area. They show to have a few around. Also Southwest KIA Rockwall, Mesquite, may have one but they are wanting like 5 to 10 K over sticker but at least they will let you drive one.

I know the government will not step in or should but only way to try and control this practices are wait them out or only buy from a good honest dealer. We all need to try and stick together but there will always be someone with that is willing to pay the price

Please keep the government out of our free market, it is ridiculous but people can always choose to go to the next guy

There is nothing illegal or unethical about a dealer adding a market adjustment line item or other BS items like dealer installed options.

Does it piss me off to no end and test my patients that my local dealer is selling an EX for $45,400 because of a $3,000 market adjustment fee and other laughable add-ons? Yes, of course it does, but it's my choice if I want to pay that much for a new vehicle.

Next time I go to farmers market I’ll tell the lady selling bread for 4,5$ that I really need it and it’s only one left and if she doesn’t I’ll starve, I hope she doesn’t raise price to 7$.

Guys/Gals just don’t pay over, figure something out but don’t make rich richer and put yourself in more debt because of a car.

Also please consider that if you’re paying $10k over that places you in a whole different class of vehicle to cross shop!
