If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... FYI Yakima finally has a roof rack fit listed for the Telluride on their website using their RidgeLine system to attach to the side rails. Ridgeclip 37 to adapt to the telluride. Retails for $486-630 plus tax for the whole package depending upon type of crossbar.

I bought used RidgeLine mounts and aero crossbars for $80 last week. I have the new RidgeClips coming next week. Total investment $205. Score!

Sorry for the bad pic. I just happened to take this the other day for another purpose.

Thanks for the pictures. I've had a Yakima roof rack system awhile back ago and have always been a fan, but I'm not sure if I like their design for the KT. Thule's feet and clips look better integrated to the rail.

I would have bought a Yakima system but Thule came out first (winter 2019).

Also, Is there a purpose for the "bar" on the end cap? How is the wind noise? The Thule Wingbar (in the shape of an airfoil) is suppose to keep the wind noise down.

the Thule definitely looks more flush, however I don't really notice it on the Telly. Regarding the bars, I got the HD bars because I wanted to be able to use ratchet tie down straps for when I'm hauling things up top; e.g. I picked up 20 pieces of 2x4 lumbar the other day.

Regarding wind noise, there is extremely minor wind noise. I was worried about this at first because I had read how racks could cause noise, but at 60 mph, it's barely noticeable (when radio is off).

I assume they're better build and can carry more weight then the OEM racks, but other then that are there any other differences? Can the cross bars be removed quickly and easily?

Congrats on the great deal. Post some pics whenever you get it all set up
Finally got some time to install. RidgeLine Towers with the CoreBars. Looks pretty good. Plenty of clearance and very little wind noise. These are the 50” bars. I may check into the 60” bars later on. Easier for kayak loading.

Nice!

I may be wrong, but it looks like your cross bar spacing may be too far apart. Manufacturers specify a working range, I think, to reduce wind noise and to spread the load properly. Check the Yakima's installation manual for the proper spacing requirements.

The Yakima base towers look farther apart than stock. Is that to hold heavier gear?

Anyone have good experiences with any of the Yakima roof boxes? Skybox? RocketBox? CBX? GrandTour? Snowboard racks? Surfboard racks?

These should play well with the OEM cross bars, right? I read somewhere that Yakima already worked with Kia to produce some quality products that fit the OEM bars perfectly. Is this true? I'm considering picking up some OEM bars because they look clean and flush and have to fit perfectly if Kia was involved in the design, production and QA/QC.

I had a full Yakima system back in the day on a 1990 4Runner and it served me well for years until I donated the 4Runner to a local charity. Had the snowboard/ski racks, surfboard racks. Love Yakima's quality even though they are a bit pricy and have gone up a lot since the 1990s, but if they'll provide me with years of secure and durable service, I guess I'll stick with them for my new ride. Why not, right? :)
