• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The KIA Telluride in Gravity Grey

I just joined the Family. I was going to get the Dark Moss but my wife didn’t like it as much as I did, and this Gravity Grey kept calling to us. We love it.
She looks beautiful! Question: Are the side steps functional for you or do they get in the way getting in/out of the vehicle?

Mine should be here next year (2021) around the end of March or April. For the three items, you mention I purchased the lighting kit although I did not purchase the illuminated scuff plates ( I may in the future) as far as the side step probably not. From what I have read and seen the 20" rims do not reduce ride quality.
Well, have fun with the new ride!!! Safe Travels
Turns out the dealer left the tire PSI at 46 all around! Had them drop it to 38 and it rides MUCH better. I guess this happens often enough for it to be posted here in another forum.

Well, when bored and waiting for a Telluride to be created I found myself looking at data. For instance, I know how many SX V6 AWD Prestige / Towing all colors Tellurides they created in my home state. That number is 17 per month since Aug 2019, the interesting part is EX Tellurides with the same criteria were at 9 per month.
I also know I will be one of three Gravity Gray Tellurides with Dune Brown interior. Oh, yea so when I see the other 350 Gravity Gray Tellurides around town I can say look at my Dune Brown interior.

Keep going back and forth on whether to do the Prestige package to get Dune Brown.

I like the classic look of a brown. If KIA offered a black interior with a black headliner, I might have purchased that. My wife didn't want black because of the gray headliner so my choice was kind of made for me. Disposable income is something we all have to look at and if options we purchase mean that much to us. Some people look at cars as an "a" to "b" experience others (me) enjoy the style over most anything else. Says a guy who would love an old green station wagon with wood paneling and you got it "brown" fake leather interior. Oh and the rear facing seat!!!

The Dune Brown looks great. A little more "rugged". The Napa Gray was too light for me. The black is classy, but I live in a hot state. I liked the fact that the black came with a lighter headliner. The Dune Brown headliner is black so it's a little dark on the inside. I'm still good with it, but that is something to consider. I do like the prestige package. The black wheels are a nice touch and I really like the HUD.

Hey Buck, I have a GG SX Prestige with Dune on order. Question for you. I was told HUD was very hard or next to impossible to see if you are wearing sunglasses with polarized lenses. Any truth to this?

I do like the Dune. Heads-up display is nice. Nice head liner. Nice black rims.

It is true. The HUD really dims out when I am wearing mine.

That’s interesting. I think it depends on your glasses (and potentially on how sunny it is outside) I have the HUD and I have no problem seeing it even when I am wearing my polarized sunglasses ... I do have mine set to the highest brightness and and green colour ... not sure if that makes a difference

I love the HUD especially for NAV turn by turn instructions on busy highways when eveyone is speeding and there are a lot of lane changes needed.. feels much safer to me than looking over onto the map

Maybe it is the color. Mine is set to white. I will have to look up how to change it and try a different color.

I recently purchased a Telluride that has HUD, but the trim I test drove didn't. So, I'm curious if the nav on the HUD works with the following (1) Apple car play enabled and using kia gps - which I think is a yes; and (2) with Apple car play enabled and using Google maps - which I think is a no. Can someone please confirm? Thanks!

Thanks nfss! I really appreciate your input and will keep it in mind when the time comes. Stay safe.

HUD works when apple car play is enabled (e.g. music or podcasts) but turn by turn directions are only displayed on the HUD if you are using Kia's native navigation system so I now use it almost exclusively for route guidance. I have not tried using it with google maps. I will give it a try tomorrow

Thank you for the response and details. Let me know how it goes with google maps.

CarPlay doesn’t pass any information to the HUD. You won’t get any info about now playing or maps. The only thing you will see is when you switch audio modes to CarPlay. Then you’ll see the CarPlay logo pop up in the HUD, but that’s obviously not helpful.

Polarized sunglasses will likely mute or eliminate the HUD, but you may get lucky depending on the plane that your particular lenses are polarized at. If you can’t see it with your sunglasses on, try turning them 90°. You should see it. This obviously doesn’t help while driving, but sometimes even a little head tilt will get you a better view of the HUD.

I can confirm that google maps doesn’t pass any information to the HUD.

The native NAV works great (at least in Toronto)... the only quibble I have with it is that I cannot set a destination unless the car is in park. I do get the safety rationale, but it can be annoying. I would never try to punch in an address while driving but this function prevents the passenger / co pilot from setting a destination while the car is running... you need to find a spot to park the car ( which can be tricky when driving on the highway)

I’m surprised no one has come out with a shift lever override that will allow destination to be set whenever
