• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Brand new sx prestige. Love it compared to previous Volvo XC90. First snow yesterday and tried to grab windshield wipers and store them away from windshield while at work to avoid ice build up. Uh....can’t. The “well” where the hood and windshield meet doesn’t allow for it bc the wipers sit down and inside too far. The wipers hit the hood when I tried to grab them. Anyone notice this and have a solution? What am I missing here?

The wipers need to be in service mode first. You can find it in your manual.

Thank you! I’ll do some digging. We tried to turn them on and shut them off when the wipers were vertical and that obviously didn’t work. I knew someone would have this answer! Thank you for helping me!

I have a clear decal on the upper left corner of my windshield that talks about how to put the wipers in service mode

When you park and turn off your engine, push up on the wiper control inside your car for two seconds. You have 20 seconds after the engine is off to do this. The wipers will come up and then you can pull them away from the windscreen.

Thank you for the tip my husband keeps complaining! now he knows how to do it!
