• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Overall I am happy with the Telluride and the list of things I like is much longer that the list of things I don't like. The things I don't like are minor:

- transmission is not smooth and has some lag compared to my MDX and Ridgeline (have tried all the settings)
- no backlights on the garage door openers
- no indicator which memory position selected
- door openers mounted on mirror - have moved the mirror while pushing the buttons
- ride is not great on rough roads with stock 20" wheels - will hopefully be better with 18" wheels and winter tires
- interior space between wheel wells too narrow (<48")
- while the interior space is great for an SUV, I find when using the 3 rows traveling with 5 people and all the stuff for a trip to the cottage, there is not enough room to pack everything and be comfortable
(ended up using my 12 year old Honda minivan instead of the brand new Telluride!)

The only issue for me is the lack of "non subscription" remote start.....other than that, it is the BEST suv I have ever owned!

You can use the Navigation in the Telluride without a UVO subscription as long as your Telluride is equipped with Navigation which the SX trim is. You can turn the UVO Network off under Navigation settings and Use Network and you would uncheck the Use UVO Network box which is on Page 9-15 of the attached Telluride Infotainment System Guide. I included the UVO packages and what they cover and it does not affect the Navigation if your Telluride is equipped other than you won't be able to search the network for destinations without connection to the UVO network as most of UVO is for remote access features like remote start and location of vehicle when parked along with the ability to send destination commands from the app and using Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa with voice commands from home from what I am seeing.

I have a 2020 EX and have confirmed that I can't use navigation without the subscription...which is complete BS considering we have the maps loaded in the system. I can't fathom why I shouldn't be able to type in an address and have the downloaded map route. The only work around is if I drag the cross hairs to the place I'm trying to go, then the car will navigate to that point.

My biggest complaint is the amount of relatively cheap and easy upgrades I missed out on with the EX 😂. I wish I'd had known (or comprehended) what I was going to miss out on for that extra couple thousand dollars (needed the 2nd row bench seat tho...). Also rushed to buy a Telly last July and missed out on available 20" rims and remote start. It'd be REALLY nice if Kia gave 2020 owners the option to retrofit the key fob start that the '21s have. Any ideas if we expect that to happen???

My last gripes: Paint on the hood chips way easier than it should. Every time I wash her she's got a new chip and I don't tailgate semis or anything.

Overall, I absolutely love the car though, like most people

My only complaint is how exhausting it is having so many people lusting after her.

We had an appliance sales guy tell us last week how our Telly was. Said he and his wife really wanted one, but bought a Ford Exploder instead because he didn’t want to pay over MSRP. He got $6,000 below MSRP on the Ford.

They hate the Exploder now, lol....

Go to voice recognition settings and disable UVO network. If that doesn’t work, update your head unit software for free (32GB or larger thumb drive required) and that should also allow you to search addresses again without UVO.

Fair warning that updating software is irreversible, and the current release version has UI changes that most owners seemingly do not like. Mainly you lose the 3 widget home screen and radio presets are harder to use. Head over to this thread to see comments. There should be a new update in April that will probably address the current complaints.

I agree though that Kia shouldn’t have made it so difficult to get navigation to work as it should after the UVO Link subscription expires.

Unlikely this will ever be an option. You can install an aftermarket remote starter and use your existing fob to activate it though.

Yeah I did some more reading after posting and saw the suggestion on updating the software. I did disable UVO but no luck. I'm not a fan of the new map update, may wait to see what they come out with this spring.

I saw the plug and play remote start but heard that voids the warranty?? We may be moving to a much colder climate this summer, might have to spend the $300. I'd much rather pay Kia $300 and not void the warranty, though.

I have lived in Minnesota my entire life and survived without remote start. I will continue to do so with my 2020 Telluride.
I tried remote start via UVO a few times - it has maybe started for me twice.

I live in Pa. but have a vacation home in the woods of Vermont.....the UVO remote start works here in Pa. but not up there in Vermont.....the only difference is we have little to no cell service up there. The UVO system seems dependent upon that......

Yeah I lived in CO for 4 years and didn't ever have it, but I was a single dude in his 20s. We may be moving to Alaska and I've got 2 little ones now, would like for them to not freeze waiting for the Telluride to warm up. Ultimately they'd be fine, but still...

Had it just over a week.

Not a fan of the grab handle where I rest my knee when I drive. I think I'm going to get a little pad for it.

Not a fan of the shade on the sunroof. I rented an Audi Q7 once that had a fabric shade under the sunroof. You could open the sunroof and still keep the fabric shade closed so you could get the fresh area without getting direct sun on the top of your head.

As you can see, I'm just nitpicking. I'm loving it.

I've been using the UVO remote start without a hitch for over a month and like it. I think whats not being explained is the key fob's range is ? Without seeing the car, do you know its running? Can you custom set the heating, steering wheel, and defrosters? I agree that it shouldn't be an added charge and both should be provided but if I had to choose, I would take the UVO. If I need to be close to my car for the fob to work doesn't help me.

I don't use UVO bc I won't pay for it. I don't know the key fob's range, but I'm never going to be that person who starts my car way at a distance out of sight anyway.

If your heating is set on high when you get out of the car, and you have your seat and steering wheel set to go on at that setting (there's a way to connect them), then yah, it will all come on from the key fob start.

I wish the car would lock and unlock itself without a DIY proximity switch. The factory wiper blades are meh.......I just bought a new set today and have had the Telly for a month. Other than that; no complaints

I’ve driven both Q7 and Q5’s with pano sunroofs, pretty sure it is not possible to close the shade with the glass portion open.

Also the perforated shades do a terrible job keeping the car cool on hot summer days. I prefer the blackout shades on the Telluride.

I don't know the key fob's range,

Product reference guide says 98.4ft range. Range would probably be a lot shorter with walls in the way.

I always love to use the remote start leaving a restaurant, apartment building, mall, or coming back to the car from a long walk and have it toasty warm in the winter or cooled in the summer. Kind of pointless to have remote start in these scenarios if you can only turn it on once you get close enough to the car to see it. By then the car would hardly have cooled/warmed at all.

I've heard the OEM wipers are not that great. So far, knock on wood, I've not had to use them much. However, when I do replace them, it will probably be with Bosch.

I wanted Bosch but the local Walmart doesn’t carry them and I didn’t feel like ordering. We’ll see how these Michelin wipers hold up

Last time I got them it was at my local AutoZone.

Its a shame that we haven't been able to attend any big events but I could see me coming out of a stadium and have a warm car ready! I think the app has made it 100% more enjoyable.

UVO is handy but it seems a lot of folks don’t care for it. The Telly is my wife’s daily driver and she likes to forget to lock the vehicle. Got the app set up to notify when the car is left unlocked. One tap and it’s done. I’ve used the app remote start a few times but my 21 S has the function on the fob
