  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello All!
Recently started my adventure in Telluride research and wandered across this Forum. Overwhelming to say the least!
Hat's off to all for creating such an awesome source of information. I have begun the novel of countless stories and am intrigued with all I have encountered so far.
Realizing the time involved with a Telluride purchase, has me a bit awestruck. I see many comments about the wait being worth it. Contacting a couple dealerships in southern AZ has shown me that there is a wide variety of pricing, for a vehicle that no one seems to have! I am in hopes that I can see developed lists of good vs bad dealerships in my area.

Greetings, and nice to meet you all!

Hello, and welcome. I am a new Telluride owner in Flagstaff. We did not get a very good deal (paid way over msrp). But, wife and I are liking the car. Right now waiting out the snow storms. The dealership in Flag was quoting $5000 over msrp and only had a couple in stock that we did not care for, and the dealerships in Phx (ones I emailed) were mostly quoting $10000 (that’s correct ten grand) over. I did not negotiate or deal with any of them, so don’t know how much, if any, they were willing to negotiate.

You might have a little better luck with Courtesy Kia. They are a new dealership in town and, originally had in about 30 or 40 new Tellurides. They will answer your emails if you see something you like. I don’t think (so many different dealers, can’t remember much, just a jumble in my head) that they were one of the ones that had the huge quote of $10 grand over.
Good luck to you.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. What might the Telluride be replacing for you? I'm glad you found us. :)

I live in Scottsdale. After finding the dealerships in the Phx area (even the one where I had previously leased my LX Telluride from) were not going to budge much on the huge market adjustments, I used this forum to find nearby states where the vehicles were being sold at MSRP. There are several dealerships in Colorado selling at MSRP, wait times around 12 -16 weeks from order to delivery. Mine took around 14 weeks to make it to my home, but I had tint done and a paperwork issue that slowed down the process a bit. There was also a fee of $199 (a code fee, also commonly called etching), which I found added before paperwork finalized that I had to get removed. Of course if they add junk like that on, it is not actually MSRP. The shipping fee was $650 from Colorado to Scottsdale. I paid registration/title in Az and was sent temporary Colorado plates while Az process is completed. Anyways, if you have the time to wait, you could consider ordering to avoid the huge market adjustments.

Well, it looks like you might get a bit of snow this week. We are actually hearing of a dusting in Tucson tonight! Pretty rare, but happens once in awhile. Appreciate your input. Starting down that path now. Jim Click in Tucson saying 10K over msrp. Geez. Royal said at msrp, but not even taking orders until they get caught up. Must be a big list already.

Thanks and take care!

May be the way things go. What I've seen so far, has been enlightening to say the least. Odd to me that so many websites, advertisements, etc - keep saying instock. When you call, "oh no' they have been sold already. I guess thats not really unexpected, just would hope for better.

Thanks

Glad to be aboard! Amazing site and bunch of people, from what I can see.
So excited to get on with the chase. Ready to move on from a 2009 Acadia. Nice, but really beginning to wear out.

Thanks for having me!

I met the delivery truck yesterday to get my new Telly (Wolf Grey/Nightfall, I love it) and it literally started hailing as I stepped out of the car to get my keys and sign the docs. It only hails here once every year or two, just my luck. And 90% chance of snow tonight, all sorts of crazy. I am sure it will be nothing to write home about, but still fun to say it happened.

Royal had a 6-12 month wait when I was looking a few months ago and while I was willing to be patient, I was not quite that patient. There are a couple dealerships in California too at MSRP, they just had longer waits when I was looking, but that could be different now.

Wow! They wouldn't tell me their estimate on opening up the process - but I was hoping faster than that myself. May testing the reach of my desire! ;)

I live in New Mexico but was willing to make a 10 hour drive (one way) to Plano, Tx the the car I wanted at MSRP (actually $400 under MSRP since I got the veteran's discount). Good luck with your search - be willing to drive a bit in a one-way rental car and then be prepared to enjoy the drive back home!

Great advice!

I live in New Mexico as well. I ordered from i26Kia in Longmont, Colorado. They are at MSRP plus a $695 processing fee. They quoted 4 to 6 month wait - $500 refundable deposit which they took over the phone when I told them what I wanted. Eventually it took one week less than 5 months from deposit to pickup. They get a large number of Tellurides. They were great to deal with. Flew from here to Denver, they picked me up at airport. Max of little over an hour for paper work and car instruction - and I was on my way south to Santa Fe. Did it all in one day. Reach out to Nicole Parish if you want to start the process with them.
