• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello! I didn't find this discussed anywhere in a quick search. In our other cars, Hondas, we are able to load all our bags (with car keys inside) in the trunk each day and then start the car and go. With the Telluride, it will not start unless I bring the key into the front seat area. This is so annoying to me. Does it do this to everyone?

It might depend on how buried it is in a bag, or how many other electronic devices are nearby the fob that would cause interference for the signal (even a smart fob for another car in the same bag).

I thought it was required for the key to be on the drivers seat to start as well, but upon testing I was able to start with the fob left in the trunk.

Kia Access with UVO link without the fob?

Hmm. Thanks for testing. I will try to move it to another part of my bag and see if that helps.

Results may vary; some people can start with the fob anywhere around or in the vehicle and some can’t. As stated; a variety of reasons can affect the signal.

the key is in the jacket, the jacket is in the trunk - to start. But as they wrote to you above, it depends on many factors + to the ones listed above: city or village, cellular communications, radio and TV signals, high-voltage transmission lines, etc. The more signals and frequencies, the more the signal is suppressed.
