What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I was quoted today the following for an S AWD in Everlasting Silver with Black Interior that has Captain's Chairs. They originally told me they would not sell it for less than $2000 over MSRP because they are "hot and selling quicker than they can keep them in stock". But when I told them no thanks, they emailed me back with a better price. (This has all been done over text / email so far).

OTD Price: $37,490
Sales Tax 7% brings it $40,114.
Financing Rebate for $1500 brings it to $38,614
Delivery Fee: $500 (I am purchasing it from one state over and they will deliver it)

Looking at $39,144 when it is all said and done. Not sure how screwed I am getting here, if at all. So much different information out there.

They did tell me that I can only get the conquest extra $1000 rebate if the registration of the car in question is in my name, and since it is in my wife's they said I could not receive that rebate. Is that true?

The price appears in line with MSRP including destination, so it seems reasonable. Kia's online configurator indicates that S-AWD base price is near $36,000 plus $1045 for destination. You can run the VIN at:
https://www.kia.com/us/en/data/dealerinventory/windowsticker/<PASTE VIN HERE>

To see the window sticker and get MSRP. As for the conquest rebate - there are varying stories of success with it - keep pushing for it. You can keep asking for discounts from the dealer, but may not happen.

Now, please do let us know if your internet quote is actually valid when you get to the dealership. Your sales guy may have "left for the day", or they will ask for $3,000 paint protection, and $500 for tinted windows (bonus points if they try to say they already tinted them for you - (because except for front, they come from the factory already tinted). Good luck!

Prepare yourself for a Kia dealership experience!

Check how your state handles taxes on vehicles to make sure they are not pulling one over you by taking the rebate off of the MSRP plus Tax price. In Iowa for example rebates (financing rebate, conquest etc.) and any trade in are subtracted from the vehicle price. You pay the tax on whatever that reduced price is.

Well not planning on going into the dealership at all for this. They are faxing over the paperwork for review on Wednesday, then driving the car to my home with a physical copy of the paperwork for signing. Will let you know how the paperwork looks Wednesday.

Yeah sadly my state taxes on the price pre-rebate.

Not true at all. I just got the conquest rebate and the car is in my wife's name. I didn't even have my wife co-sign or register so she didn't have to come to the dealership. I think the price is also too high, in my opinion.
It is true. The car must be registered to whoever is on the contract in order to qualify for owner loyalty or competitive bonus

Another UPDATE: Got my VIN today and window sticker!! Really feels real now lol. ETA bumped up to 6/19 but hoping for earlier.

Wow, congrats. So you did order from Matt Taylor after me and you got your VIN? And I have no clue of VIN neither ETA, nothing.

Yes, but only because I located a Telluride going to their other office and called them and made them get it for me. It was truly lucky. See my previous post for the story. Really really lucky!!

Yes, it feels like a rip off to me. It is an EX without AWD but does include towing. I replied to the dealer I wasn’t interested in paying over MSRP and received this in reply:
“It is kind of crazy right now for the Telluride!!! I have been here 14 years and never seen a more in demand vehicle. It will change down the road once the frenzy is over, I can assure you that it is all it is crack up to be! Check back later in the Fall and it should be back to normal...”

So, when dealers are willing to give up sales at MSRP, that’s a problem. But I’m not biting! 😗
Id still be curious to hear from someone who did pay thousands over MSRP.

You may be hearing from me if some Telluride don’t start hitting the lot this Summer. I’m ready to pay over MSRP.

I finally got a reasonable call / offer from a dealer today, MSRP for a Black EX, FWD, no towing at $38,500 (MsRP + destination). This offer makes me feel like there’s some sanity left in the Telluride world, since earlier today the same was offered to me at $48k!
We are crunching / finalizing numbers tomorrow, but on the phone he quoted $2500 rebate for loyalty ($1000) and financing ($1500). But then he said Kia interest is at 3.9% for 5 years which he said was their best rate? They haven’t officially run numbers or pulled my credit (which is well above 720, the score I understand Kia considers “good.”) so I’m perplexed where 3.9 came from as it doesn’t jive with their website.
Can someone who’s financed with Kia for 60 months confirm if the current rate is 1.9% Or is this 3.9% he mentioned because he offered the $1500 financing discount. Is it one or the other, no combination of discount plus lower interest rate? I just need to decide whether to go with my own preapproved bank loan or if I can get the 1.9% with Kia. If it’s the discount OR the lower interest, I’ll need to decide which to pick.
I considered leasing but the numbers he threw out to me today were lousy. Again, I’ll get into more detail at our meeting tomorrow, but would appreciate your experience with recent Kia financing.

Yes that is the norm. It is a markup from Kia.com apr to get the 1,500 rebate. Most people go that route to scoop the 1,500 rebate then refinance at a lower rate through your personal bank or Credit Union.. that way you get best price and aggressive rate for your credit scores

Jen, I got the $1500 and 1.9%, for 48 months. Any higher than 48mo and the rate jumps.

I just purchased my EX FWD w/ carpet floor mats and cargo net (no towing, and I couldn't get them to budge at all on add-ons, I actually wanted to remove the cargo net and they were absurdly belligerent about it all comes with the car w/e) out the door was 38.5k ($2500 in rebates) -- 36.9k without tax since it varies widely state to state. Is it a good deal? With the rebates and what the car is, I'm happy with the price I paid. I was alternatively looking at the Atlas SE w/tech which I was getting quotes for 36k OTD. Only 2.5k more to get ventilated seats, a better looking car, a better engine, folding side mirrors, highway driving, better power train warranty etc. made sense to me.

Any great price hunters I think will have to wait 6 months or just get really lucky. Based on cars.com/cargurus I seem to have picked up the last EX FWD within 200 miles of the northern virginia area.

Ok, I thought maybe it would jump to 2.9 but not 3.9 for 60 mos. though. I can do better with my bank. I’ll see what they detail tomorrow.
Thanks.

No problem, check out page 26, someone posted an image of the financing rates. You should be able to do 2.9 up to 60mo if your credit is above 720.

I just did 60 months at 2.9% with $1500. 1.9% for 60 if you don’t want the $1500 back. Another dealer tried to tell me also that 3.9% was the best...... nope. The dealers have the option to tack 1% on to your rate and that is what they are trying to do. 3.9% with $1500 is if you are doing 66 months.

I haven’t been able to find a better rate through my banks than kia’a 0.9% @ 48 months or 1.9% at 60 months. Doing the math, those would be the better options for me instead of the $1500 if I stay paying during the life of the loan.

I have almost completed my purchase of a black EX with grey leather, but I had to leave The new Telluride at the dealer today, and keep my trade in as a loaner, because the Telluride literally hasn’t been processed, unwrapped, keys setup, or detailed. I will pick it up tomorrow.
For anyone interested, I paid exactly MSRP which was bumped up because it had added mats, cargo cover, etc. and with destination for $38,805 (plus TTL). I honestly have never paid MSRP for any new car, and pride myself on lots of research as negotiations for each car I’ve bought, but given the unique situation for this Telluride, I’ve accepted it as a good deal.
I went with Kia financing at 1.9% / 60 months, and with loyalty discount.
All in all I’m happy with the deal, especially compared to the bozo offers I was getting at $5-10k over sticker, all of which I said thanks, but no thanks to. I hope that everyone can find and be patient for a fair enough deal and not pay over sticker, too.
I will be even happier about the deal when I drive it off the lot! Then, I’ll be thinking about all the other fun stuff people discuss here, such as bigger, cooler wheels! 😁

Is that price for an AWD EX or a FWD EX ? Also what state are you in ? That seems like a good deal based off of all that I am seeing these days.

Hi All,
My wife and I ordered a white SX with the dune brown prestige package on April 16th from Sansone Kia in NJ. They told me it would be about 6 weeks, give or take a week or 2 which were are fine with. With the added floor mats and a few other things we ended up agreeing to pay the MSRP of 47544 ( + TTL on top). Every dealer I spoke with in the NY/NJ area would not even budge off MSRP and they say because its a "special order" they would not discount a thing.
I had a question about the conquest and owner loyalty part though. My father qualifies for both having previously purchased a Kia from the same place and also owning a qualified competitive vehicle. He has no problem co-signing with me if its going to save a couple thousand dollars. The Kia dealer however said that because I qualify for the .9% 48month APR I can not stack the other cashback incentives on top. Is this true? I don't understand why being qualified for a low APR disqualifies you for being loyal or having a competitive vehicle. Anybody qualify for all 3 (low APR, conquest and loyalty) or even 2 out of 3? I prefer to go with their low APR, but I'd like to get atleast one of the cashback bonuses.
Thanks!

You may not get the $1500 finance rebate from Kia @ .9% but for sure you can @ 1.9%. You can't stack conquest and loyalty, its one or the other. You CAN stack finance and conquest or loyality.

Thanks! The 1.9% and $1500 doesn't make sense to me because so far I haven't been able to find outside cheaper financing than 1.9% anyways.
So you're saying that even with the .9% APR I should be able to get the loyalty OR conquest?

Hi - this is an EX, FWD, no towing. I’m in California. Paid MSRP, not a penny under or over (well, I did get Kia loyalty discount).
I also heard from one other dealer here in the San Francisco Bay Area who offered exactly MSRP if I ordered an EX, but the Telluride I ended up with just delivered to dealer, so no order or wait time necessary.
If I had wanted an SX, it would be another story. All the dealers here are backordered in the SX and charging over MSRP.
