Floormats for Telluride - good options?

Does anyone have a forum code or promo code for the Smartliner floormats? I’ve been trying to find one since it seems they charge more $$ when you don’t want coverage between the 2nd and 3rd rows.

It’s crazy to me... because it’s less material, but I just don’t like the look of the rubber covering every inch of carpet. I kind of like the cleaner look of not having that strip that goes between the captians chairs.

You’re probably one of the few that doesn’t want this

@DarkMossJustin , yes the new neo ones are improved and are built to use the existing factory mat hooks. These would look nice with your seats which in turn would be like an eclipse happening so.... . I know you have not giving these tux mats a good review lately but I think your coming around .

Well I haven't experienced the neo TuxMats, yet, only the crap they put out before. If TuxMats wants to send me a sample of the neo TuxMat skins in the mail, I can give them my opinion.

Better yet, I hope some neighbors, employees, happy hour associates, friends, acquaintances, random people at the gas station, or perhaps even family members will have the New Improved TuxMats.

Probably not, because of how thoroughly detailed I was about trashing the old versions, but ya never know

Wow- I used to live in Camarillo. Ages ago... I think you would be impressed with Tuxmat quality. They fit really nicely and protect all of the carpet.

Camarillo is probably the last livable place in CA for me, but I already have one foot out the door and it's sad because I grew up in NorCal and road-tripped all around the Golden State in my former cars: 1990 V6 Toyota 4Runner + 2002 Lexus LS 430, and now my 2021 AWD V6 Telluride SX-P/T.

Love the mountains, the hills, the valleys, the canyons, the deserts, the forests, the high deserts, going down the coast on the PCH between Mugu Rock and the Ventura County Line, then back up again after a mid-week sunset-hour clam chowder + calamari basket with an ice cold beer during the work week (Weekends are insane and I don't even try).

I do see your TuxMats but my eyes quickly focused on the awesome OEM Illuminated Scuff Plates that I requested but weren't available when my order was finally picked up by KFOS

Were yours factory-installed? I would have gone for that. Dealer offers them but for a lot more money + expensive Service Dept. installation. I'm happy that I like the lines on the standard scuff plates.

Design and aesthetics are subjective and I still think the OEM All-Weather Floor Mats look better. Totally just my opinion.

My amazing OEMs fit perfectly into the floor hook-tabs from the stars, have vertical channels to collect slush/water/sand/dirt/snow like the original WeatherTech FloorLiners and have TELLURIDE stamped into the amazing material that's great for resting heels and soles of feet and tapping my left foot to the music blasting out of that excellent 10-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system

You’ll have to pick up an oem illuminated scuff plates set from eBay as I heard the install is not too difficult at all.

I have access to several Haas CNC Machines that will make anything out of blocks of aluminum/steel, etc.

I'm still considering a quick-release center console for between the captains chairs but since I'm getting a pup, maybe I'll just leave the center aisle alone in case the Maligator prefers that spot to the crate or the floor mats or the cargo area.

The only thing that gives me pause is simple interior trim removal.

If an earthquake hits the moment I'm doing this, and my hand slips or a tool gets caught in the A-pillar air bag assembly, I'd rather not accidentally launch an air-bag into my face destroying the Oakley frames I just bought that cost way too much to replace.

Wait a sec. I got confused. Hard-wired dash cam would go through the A-pillars behind the airbag wiring but Illuminated Scuff Plates have nothing to do with that, right? Whew.

The sound system is premium to me.

I had a Mark Levinson system in the 2002 Lexus and it sounded nice, but I prefer my Telly's H/K system.

The Lexus had a tape deck, an in-dash 6 CD-changer and AM/FM with no AUX plug, no BlueTooth. I had a tape-deck adapter to plug into phones that still had phone plugs. Sorry Apple, haha

Plus, I'll never buy a Lexus or Toyota again because ugly front ends. Spindle Grill, hard pass.

Haha yeah I figured that’s probably the case. Still I’m just not liking the little section covered. It makes me feel like I’m in a sterile hospital or something with every inch of the floors covered in rubber.

And even with the middle open, I figured it’s a small patch to have to vacuum if I ever need to. We wont use the rear seats unless family is in town anyways.

Okay wow.... 24 pages of conversations on floor mats. I must be pretty excited about getting my Telluride SX (Prestige + Nightfall) to have read all of these posts! (ETA March 24th)

I have seen a lot of interest in the TuxMats and I'm honestly surprised. These look almost like a fabric or consist of a cushion. They look more like a yoga mat in some regard.

To me, when I think of a floor mat, I think of something durable and easy to cleanup and maintain... which leads to my hesitancy in purchasing these...

So my question for all of the TuxMat owners:

• Would you recommend for someone living in the northern states? Someone who will be tracking in mud, gravel, snow, salt, salt, and more salt! (I hate salt - ruins everything)
• If you get mud on them, how are you cleaning them? Does a simple vacuum job get rid of it? Or do you need to power wash them?
  • If you are power washing, do you need to let them dry out? Or can you simply dry it up with a towel/rag?
• For those living in the US, once you place your order, how long did it take for you to get them?

I'm leaning towards the WeatherTech HD for the mats due to the low-maintenance and geography of where I live since it's unlikely to remain in pristine condition. I'm still debating the cargo mat. 90% of the time I will have the 3rd row down, but I'd love to have the convenience of putting them up without issues for the cargo mat.

For those who have the WeatherTech HD:

• Do you have pictures you can include?
• What's the difference between the HD and non-HD?

It kind of sounds like you already made up your mind but here it goes.

In other cars I've had VW monster mats, weather tech about 5 years ago, and Husky in a truck.
It's my understanding that weather tech has changed their mats so my experience was probably different. I liked them for their ability to stop dirt from getting on the carpet and ease of cleaning. What I didn't like was the extremely stiff plastic that was not comfortable and luxuries at all. They looked like they should be in a tractor.
The luxmats are going to be harder to get in and out but I have zero worries about their durability. I'll probably just clean them in place unless they get crazy bad.
With any of these mats, the biggest problem is keeping the floor clean when you pull them out.

I received the smart liner after debating between these and weather tech. I’ve always owned weather tech, but the smart liner pricing won me over, and I took a chance. Fitment is great in the front, and rear. As always with shipping, still waiting for the one piece rear to lay totally flat, but overall happy. The difference in my opinion is the smart liners seems to be a little thinner and a little less rigid than the weather tech. So far, I’d say it’s worth the money savings, but only time will tell how they hold up compared to weather tech.

I also have the Smartliners and they look/fit/feel great so far. Love that they cover the middle row between the captains chairs. Love that they fully cover the sides/edges. I think it was a good deal since I used the extra money to buy more Telly accessories .
