• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I recently purchased the S trim and noticed when I manually turn the heated seats it only stays on for roughly a minute before it shuts off. It doesn’t allow me to turn it back on after it goes off? Any thoughts on what could be causing this. Thanks!

The exact thing happened on my prior Acadia driver seat. After 10 years of use, the seat heater element wore out and shorted. Stayed on for only a minute before automatically shutting off just as you described. To much money to repair as the seat would have to be taking apart.

Make an appointment to have your dealership check the seat heater element.

Try replacing the 20A fuse and see if that helps?

If you want to try and fix it and your handy go for it. But if you said you recently bought it take it back to the dealer under warranty and get it taken care of for free

Agree, and to get the problem documented.

Reviving an older thread, but this happened to mine a week after bringing it home. Were you able to get this resolved? Any insight on the cause and fix?

If they were autoatmically activated by climate control (a setting setup), I believe they ramp down and eventually turn off once the chill is off - what exactly that program is, I'm not sure, but it appears to be intended. If you manually activate them, they should stay on until you turn them off. The steering wheel heater turns off after something like 30 minutes regardless I believe.

Yep - I made sure that feature was not selected when trying to manually turn on the heater/ventilation on driver side. It didn't change the issue for me. Heater would go on for a minute or two and stop and not go back on when trying agin. Passenger side works as expected so far. I've made an appt at the dealer for next week. Just trying to see if I could point them in right direction based on others experience. Seems like checking the fuse, switch, then element would be the likely troubleshooting approach.

Nothing... They swapped the seat and tried a bunch of other stuff. Left it at the dealer for several hours and they weren’t able to fix it. Technician said he is baffled and never seen this issue. Had to open a ‘ticket’ with corporate but that meant leaving the vehicle at the dealership for several days. Let me know if you are able to get it resolved! Very frustrating on a brand new vehicle

Any luck with your appointment this week? Taking mine back to the dealership next month to have them look into it again.

Yes! Apparently it was just a loose wire connection in the harness. Fixed it immediately and all good now. I’m guessing your situation is more complicated as my dealer spotted it right away. They did mention that the seat heater didn't have many components with just a few points of failure...hopefully yours gets resolved! Does your ventilation work? Mine would until i switched to heat, which would shut off after a few seconds, and then the ventilation would not work until turning the car off then back on. When I mentioned this to dealer at drop off and asked about the fuse, they said the fuse wasn't the issue...and they were right.

Did they ever get to the bottom of your seat problem? Sounds we have exactly the same issue - they checked the harness, replaced the heat pads in the seat, replaced the control module etc etc - all without solving the issue. Car has been with them for 3 weeks now, heat light turns on when activated then just shuts off a few seconds later, only the driver side is effected.
