Installed Proximity Door Lock/Unlock Module

It works with original fob. Telluride needs to have power folding mirrors(EX+ trim) for it to function. The module works in conjunction with "Welcome Mode". As the car detects your fob on approach, it will fold out the mirrors on normal operation. The module will send unlock signal in addition to that. Locking works the opposite way, once the car doesn't detect the fob inside the car(or walk far enough from the car), module will lock the car(on a timer I think). Mirror will fold in once the car is locked(normal operation).

How far away does the key fob have to be before doors lock? Wondered if doors would lock if vehicle is the garage and key fob is upstairs

Not far at all - it will lock while it's in the garage, mine does at times while I'm still in the garage.

It does take some time for the lock to happen, more so than any great distance - you'll look back the first several times to assure yourself it happens (and it does). The unlock happens exactly when you get close enough for the mirrors to unfold and throw the welcome light.

Since I usually drive alone (80+% of the time), and with the crazy world of car-jackers (at least here in N IL) - I have my locks set for double click to open all doors - that way the prox module will only open the driver's door. You can always double click on the OEM fob (or the accessorides long distance fob) to open the other doors.

Thanks. I've got an EXP NF and the lack of proximity L/U is annoying. Didn't think about the welcome feature (tried to read all the way back on thread). So think its easy enough for a 2 left thumbs kinda guy like me?

As answered, not far at all. I just read over the document again and it is on a 10 second timer after power off -> door open. It warns not to leave your fob in the car as it will lock the doors with the fob in it.

The module is used on other cars and different purposes too. Dip should be on fixed position for proximity on our cars.

From the Korean Seller's page(rough translation):
Features
1. Auto unlock with Welcome Mode.
2. With ignition off, driver exits(I think this means door open then closed), and all doors and trunk closed -> auto lock after 10 seconds.
3. With proximity unlocked, doors will lock after 10 seconds unless you press the brake.
4. If you enter the vehicle using doors other than driver's door, it will try to to auto lock after 10 seconds. If it detects fob inside the car, it will beep and will not lock the car.

Warning
Do not leave the car with fob inside. It will auto lock after 10 seconds.

To temporarily disable the proximity module:
Short press the trunk button on the fob 3-4 times. If you hear the door locks disengage and mirrors fold out, module is disabled.
To enable the proximity module:
Short press the trunk button on the fob 3-4 times. If you hear the door locks engage and mirrors fold in, module is enabled.

Lock doors with fob inside??? Not good. I left my key inside my Mercedes earlier this afternoon while working on something. Went inside for about 5 mins to get a drink & cool off.

One last question...I promise. Does this set up allow for locking the vehicle while running? I frequently left my old vehicle running to get coffee or go into the post office and would just lock the doors. The Telly doesn't allow this. Does the proximty setup override that? Thanks.
