Dune Brown Interior Feedback

I ordered the exact color combo. You can see the GG exterior with the dune interior on this YouTube review of the Telluride.
That video is what helped us solidify our decision, because we also ordered the GG(nightfall)/dune sight unseen. I still haven't seen any Dune interior in person, regardless of exterior color. Nearly everything our local dealers have on the lots has a black interior.

Sounds exactly like the process we went through. Originally went with white but I swear 2/3 of the ones I see around town are white.
I haven’t even seen the gravity Gray on a Telluride in person 😬
Please leave your impressions when you get it. And pictures!

Just got the 🇨🇦 version SX limited gravity grey in nightsky. Wish I could have got the dune brown interior but up here the only interior option was black. You’ll love the gravity grey. I’ve seen a couple dozen of tellurides in person and not one has been gravity grey. Mostly white or dark moss. 11170C45-3AE3-4101-9085-621DCB781F1D.jpeg4E3769DA-935B-480D-B1B0-18FDBB484528.jpeg

Looks great! Totally bad ass!

Great video. (y)

Love Joe Raiti's personality and helpful descriptions of how many beverages, snacks or softballs can fit inside storage compartments.

Those are actually useful descriptions and estimates and help convey size and capacity and scale.

When I actually saw the Dune Brown on video, from various angles and lighting conditions, I was sold.

Kia's configurator website is a bit off on the exterior/interior colors besides maybe Ebony Black or either of the White Pearls.

GG actually looks pretty good with the NFE and you picked the best color for your seats and wait until you run the back of your hand against the puppy-soft dark gray premium cloth headliner.

Thank you for making a great aesthetic decision and going Dune to the Moon !! (y)

Make sure you snub the Silly Valley tech giants and post photos of your Telly here first?

And some open-door shots showing the GG/Dune contrast if you so incline? ;)

Most of all congratulations on joining our greater Telluride community!

Looks great @Nightsky93 !!

Any chance for some windows down, doors-open photos for another thread, or is Canada just that cold? :ROFLMAO: 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

Lol it’s -5c 🥶 and snowing here which is about 23f for you. I’ll post some in coming weeks on a non 🐶 🔜 🌔 thread, but a fair warning to you there may be some tuxmats in the pictures 😂

@Nightsky93:

Fine, it's freezing cold, plus we know that Canada blocked you from going Dune to the Moon, but we know you're Dune Brown in spirit. 🐶🔜🌔

Blame Canada! 🇨🇦

Just stick with exterior photos for now until I get my OCD under control, which will involve finding the new-improved Tuxmats on one of my neighbors cars and asking to check out the new texture. Maybe that'll cure me from this particular affliction :ROFLMAO:

Took a few more shots of the Dune. Still looks great after 1 month.20210405_153843.webp20210405_153841.webp1617739827884_20210405_153858.webp20210405_153902.webp

Looking amazing still.

I love that Kia incorporated those lines and gave a wink to the Tiger Nose "design language" in the horizontal stitching of the seats.

Classy, cozy, and comfy.

Best color for seats, that's why they're charging extra for new orders w/ Dune to the Moon!

Hopefully it's just a supply and demand issue and not because of this thread and our enthusiasm for our great taste in colors and aesthetics :)

The dark gray premium cloth microfiber headliner is amazing, isn't it?

The A-pillars, even part of the B-pillars.... so classy :)

After 1 month of ownership. Still lovin’ the cozy upscale Dune Brown interior :)
That last picture is just stunning. I had the chance to buy an SX in Dark Moss last week, at MSRP.

The dealer said it was the only SX they’ve had available and unspoken for in 1.5 years! I walked away because the interior was Butterscotch. I know some people like it, but I just couldn’t do it. Now, if the interior was DB, I would be driving it today!

Thank you @Djames210 !!

Dune Brown Nappa Leather Seats, the Premium Cloth Microfiber Headliner and all the other Prestige Package benefits are well worth it...

plus the amazing HUD + 2nd Row Heated/Cooled Seats + Household power plug + Rain-sensing wipers + Mando (ZF Sachs Nivomat-style) self-leveling rear shock absorbers + Factory-mounted OEM Tow Hitch Receiver.

Car looks amazing, I get nothing but compliments.

Get the car you want

I realize the wait is insane right about now.

I knew I wanted a Telly in January-February 2020 pre-lockdowns.

From March-May, I checked out a bunch of shady local dealerships all over California that refused to take deposits to get on the wait list for custom orders, and in July, I almost gave up.

Vacaville Kia wanted a +10K "market adjustment" and only had a few Kias coming in.

At that point I was open to Everlasting Silver / Dune Brown or Dark Moss / Dune Brown or Black Copper / Dune Brown.

I wanted something with metallic flake under the clear coat that would look awesome and different in different lighting angles/seasons/weather and really sparkle under the sun.

Dark Moss has this amazing bronze glow that emerges from all the mix of dark flakes (black, brown, dark green, bronze) when the sunlight hits it directly.

I was smitten.

Plus, Kia invited a bunch of car reviewers to review the Dark Moss SX Prestige in Colorado and while many had light-gray interiors, I dug deep and found videos of Dune to the Moon on the inside.

It's a classic, familiar, cozy, classy look, much like a German car or a German Shepard/Belgian Malinois.

The Black and Medium-Brown combo will never go out of style.

I'm also glad that I paid attention to headliner material/color.

Previously I had a quality premium cloth microfiber headliner in the Lexus LS 430 but it was light-colored and my niece and nephew destroyed it with chocolate or pizza grease or fruity drinks or crayons or blood or whatever.

It got trashed real quick.

Never again ;)

Dark headliners or bust!

Hopefully you can get on a wait list for a Dark Moss / Dune Brown SX P/T masterpiece of a car !! :)

Also, the OEM All-Weather Floor Mats tie the look together perfectly.

Those and the OEM Carpeted Cargo Mat w/ Seat Back Protection and the Cargo Cover are highly-recommended (y)

Well, I’m still on the wait list for an SX/Glacial White Pearl with NFE and Gray Nappa. But still open to other combos if I happen to find one locally at MSRP. Like I said, just couldn’t pull the trigger on the yellow tint seats.

If you're on the wait list, you're not locked into what you first put down on the paper form when you left your deposit.

You can change the requested specs / accessories because:

Orders don't become real orders until you're next in line, the dealer receives an allocation for that month, and the Kia Forward Ordering System (KFOS) picks up your specs and turns it into an actual order.

Still want GWP with NFE and Light Gray (basically White) Nappa Leather?

You could go Maximum Panda? 🐼

BUT...

IF you want the amazing, the cozy, the exclusive, the incredible Dune Brown Nappa Leather seats with the Dark Gray Puppy-Soft Premium Cloth Microfiber Headliner, now's the time to say something to your salesperson/sales manager/dealership owner.

White Pearl (skip the Nightfall) looks amazing with Dune Brown
Dark Moss (non-Nightfall) looks amazing with Dune Brown
Everlasting Silver (non-Nightfall) looks awesome and contrasts amazingly with Dune Brown
Black Copper (non-Nightfall) and Dune Brown, stunning...

Chrome gives a great contrast to the exterior color, the Dune, the aluminum and the black polymer trim pieces.

You've seen the photos.

Will you call your dealership and go Dune to the Moon with us? 😋

I changed my order a few weeks ago by adding Prestige and illuminated skid plates.
They told me it would restart the clock (add a few weeks wait time) which I was okay with.

Is that how it works? When an order is modified before KFOS picks it up, it’s sent to the back of the line?

Not necessarily.

Maybe that's a rule at your dealership, but I worked with a great dealership and they said I could change anything in because an order is not an order until it gets picked up by KFOS.

I don't think it's fair to put you in the back of the line if you're making changes to the requested specs because you didn't do anything wrong and you're so far away from your order even going into the system.

If they push you back in line, that's on them, not Kia.

I'd still do it because because AWD SX P/T in Dark Moss / Dune Brown is my dream car and I got exactly what I wanted.

If, for example, I was putting down a deposit for a second Telly today and the dealer said that any changes to a paper form would set me back in line, I would not work with that dealer, but that's just how I deal with shady practices.

I refuse to reward bad behavior or any behavior that treats me less than a valued customer.

Hopefully there was a communication mix-up and that's not the case with your dealership.

If your salesperson isn't helpful, just politely ask to speak to his or her Sales Manager (I was lucky enough to work directly with mine) and if you already have the deposit down, ask to fill out another form updating the order to exactly what you want.

They should have no problem handing you a sheet of paper to update your file.

If they refuse to help you out with something this simple, then it's either laziness or incompetence and you're better off going with a better dealership elsewhere.

I can see them having an issue if you went FWD to AWD because the SX AWD allocations are the ones that require longer waits on the wait list, but if it's just switching colors on an order form months before the order is even placed, what's the deal?

KFOS is months away from even accepting your order.
