• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey all. I'm about to go order a '21 telluride and came across this post. Too bad about it but supporting wireless AA or CP but the adapters out there seem good. Just wanted to say things for the good info. I have an AAwireless on order and hope it works well. My wife has an iphone so I'll be looking into those options next. Happy to be part of the kia family!

I have the same situation (I have an Android, my wife has an iPhone, and we share the Telly). It would be really nice if one of these devices could be made to support both Apple and Android. It seems like they do very similar things for each platform.

I'm wondering if i take a USB splitter and plug it into the single USB port used for AA/CP then have a lightening and USB C connected to that, if whoever wants control just plug that phone into the splitter? Obviously only using one connection at a time.

Would love to see a picture when you can!
Ignore the dirt/dust. 😬

So what happens if while I am connected wirelessly using your device, my wife plugs in to charge her phone?

I'm assuming while using AAwireless or the Carpet equivalent? That's a good question! I'd like to know the answer too.

You would want to make sure your wife leaves your wireless adapter plugged into the main data USB port (otherwise it’ll disconnect, obviously), and then chooses one of the four other USB charge ports within range of the front seat to charge her phone.

Thanks. I ordered one after reading some reviews that suggest it works as advertised. $75 plus $15 shipping (to US addresses) is a little more than I was hoping to pay for a gadget like this, but it should be fun to play around with. Combined with widescreen support (if Kia ever decides this is more important than a purple tube radio screen), I'd use AA on every drive.
Is that confirmed that AA wireless device will show in widescreen???? IF so ill order that today

Do you know if (when it comes in) will display in full screen mode? Or if its stuck in that crappy display like using the USB with Android AUto
It will not, at least not until (or even if) Kia/Hyundai update this 10.25” system to recognize that widescreen AA capability is a thing.

I found multiple other options for USB to Wireless Carplay adapters on Amazon for around $100 ... anyone try these out?

I noticed that it doesn’t turn off when you turn off the car. I just got this and I’m worried that it will drain the battery over time. What does everyone else do with it staying on?

AAW doesn't display widescreen. It is using 2/3 of the screen.

The AAW is small enough to be stick to the lid.

I found that AAW works VERY well with the car. As you unlock the door, the AAW gets power on. As you start your car, you are already wirelessly connected with the headunit.

How do you get it to turn off the middle usb always provides power. I have the carlinkit 2.0

As for the AAW, the AAW is still powered on after I turn off the car. I know that because the AAW still emits a WIFI signal. However, after a few minutes, the WIFI signal is no longer there. So I guess the middle USB is then powered off.

Long story short, I did nothing!

Ordered from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FG2XRBP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. which appears to be from the same manufacturer as the wireless device mentioned in this thread. Instructions are identical. I get wide screen CarPlay but I had to tap the Media(?) button to get it. Why the question mark? I still have to play with this some more. I my have tapped another button to make it wide screen, I will provide a follow up with more details. First blush; the device appears to work fine albeit small latency. I also need to figure out an easy way to switch between two phones.

CarPlay adapters work in widescreen because the Telluride supports widescreen CarPlay. The Android Auto adapter doesn’t because the Telluride doesn’t support widescreen AA.

For CarPlay, it makes no difference how you access it (media button, mode button, star button if you have it programmed that way)… it all depends on what your settings are in setup > device connections. If you have split screen enabled there, it will take up 2/3 of the screen and leave the remaining 1/3 for the Kia interface. If you have split screen disabled, it will take up the full screen. You cannot change this setting on the fly and have to be disconnected to modify it.

bruesjoh04, You know your stuff. Thanks!
You must be disconnected from the USB (Media) port (wired or wireless adapter) in order to change CarPlay from split to full screen. Below are images that shows the process. Go to settings (pic 1) > Device Connections (pic 2) > Error if media port is connected (pic 3) > Split Screen option (w/media port disconnected) (pic 4) > Full screen results (pic 5) > Split screen selected (pic 6) > Split screen results (pic 7).
