Wonder if there are plans to upgrade the technology in the Telluride like the 2021 Sorento that has wireless Apple Play/Android Auto?
Hey all. I'm about to go order a '21 telluride and came across this post. Too bad about it but supporting wireless AA or CP but the adapters out there seem good. Just wanted to say things for the good info. I have an AAwireless on order and hope it works well. My wife has an iphone so I'll be looking into those options next. Happy to be part of the kia family!
I'm wondering if i take a USB splitter and plug it into the single USB port used for AA/CP then have a lightening and USB C connected to that, if whoever wants control just plug that phone into the splitter? Obviously only using one connection at a time.I have the same situation (I have an Android, my wife has an iPhone, and we share the Telly). It would be really nice if one of these devices could be made to support both Apple and Android. It seems like they do very similar things for each platform.
Same. I'm not sure if AA Wireless is that thin, hopefully there's a way to figure it out.Pretty cool, thanks for sharing. I might try the same thing with AA Wireless (whenever it arrives).
I'm assuming while using AAwireless or the Carpet equivalent? That's a good question! I'd like to know the answer too.So what happens if while I am connected wirelessly using your device, my wife plugs in to charge her phone?
You would want to make sure your wife leaves your wireless adapter plugged into the main data USB port (otherwise it’ll disconnect, obviously), and then chooses one of the four other USB charge ports within range of the front seat to charge her phone. So what happens if while I am connected wirelessly using your device, my wife plugs in to charge her phone?
Do you know if (when it comes in) will display in full screen mode? Or if its stuck in that crappy display like using the USB with Android AUtoPretty cool, thanks for sharing. I might try the same thing with AA Wireless (whenever it arrives).
Is that confirmed that AA wireless device will show in widescreen???? IF so ill order that todayThanks. I ordered one after reading some reviews that suggest it works as advertised. $75 plus $15 shipping (to US addresses) is a little more than I was hoping to pay for a gadget like this, but it should be fun to play around with. Combined with widescreen support (if Kia ever decides this is more important than a purple tube radio screen), I'd use AA on every drive.
It will not, at least not until (or even if) Kia/Hyundai update this 10.25” system to recognize that widescreen AA capability is a thing.Do you know if (when it comes in) will display in full screen mode? Or if its stuck in that crappy display like using the USB with Android AUto
Thanks for the info! SO SO FRUSTRATINGIt will not, at least not until (or even if) Kia/Hyundai update this 10.25” system to recognize that widescreen AA capability is a thing.
AAW doesn't display widescreen. It is using 2/3 of the screen. Is that confirmed that AA wireless device will show in widescreen???? IF so ill order that today
How do you get it to turn off the middle usb always provides power. I have the carlinkit 2.0AAW doesn't display widescreen. It is using 2/3 of the screen.
The AAW is small enough to be stick to the lid.
I found that AAW works VERY well with the car. As you unlock the door, the AAW gets power on. As you start your car, you are already wirelessly connected with the headunit.
As for the AAW, the AAW is still powered on after I turn off the car. I know that because the AAW still emits a WIFI signal. However, after a few minutes, the WIFI signal is no longer there. So I guess the middle USB is then powered off.How do you get it to turn off the middle usb always provides power. I have the carlinkit 2.0
CarPlay adapters work in widescreen because the Telluride supports widescreen CarPlay. The Android Auto adapter doesn’t because the Telluride doesn’t support widescreen AA.I get wide screen CarPlay but I had to tap the Media(?) button to get it. Why the question mark? I still have to play with this some more. I my have tapped another button to make it wide screen, I will provide a follow up with more details. First blush; the device appears to work fine albeit small latency. I also need to figure out an easy way to switch between two phones.
