How many manual “gears” does the Telluride have? If I’m driving down the road in automatic, and decide to switch to manual, how do I know which gear I am in? Is it displayed anywhere, while you are in manual mode?

Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. Your Telluride has eight gears. When you are driving and flip over to manual mode, the “D” in the instrument cluster will change to the gear number that you’re currently in.
