• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone accessed the inside of their grill? If so, how difficult was it? The plastic covers block access from under the bumper. I'm wanting to add lights and a mesh grill screen behind the bumper but am afraid it may be way too difficult. Any advice? TIA.

Hi
I’m with you! I just brought home our new EX and we live in the country. I wish to get to the rad. I have always kept small stones and bugs out of my rad with 1/8” welded and galvanized steel mesh. If keep well away from the rad. It works completely. Who knows how to do this?

I just don't want to put it on outside of grill.

There is a thread on the forum that discusses step by step how to do the grill mesh. Just gotta search it.

EDIT: without a bumper pull

one way is to put on top or remove the plastic bumper. it's easy.

Has anyone tried pulling the skid plate and loosening the bumper but not pulling it off completely to get to the backside of the bumper? I’m going to take a look at it this evening

I tried. Bumper appears to wrap under so couldn't getvaccess that way, but I gave up without taking it all the way off

I just removed the bumper, it's not hard but it is time consuming. Video here
Awesome! Thank you! I ended up not getting to it this evening so I’ll try it this weekend. Looks like you might’ve gotten a cut or two doing this?

Yeah because I didn't know what I was doing :). If you follow the video it should be pretty straightforward but just wear gloves just in case

Does anyone know if you can access behind the grill on a '23 by just removing the top black cover (on top of the radiator)?
Wasn't sure if it was all one piece with the bumper assembly, or if there are clips on the front side of the top black piece where it attaches to the top of the grill?

Trying to add my mesh panel behind the grill without removing the entire bumper assembly...................
