• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Unfortunately, the suicide doors are not a part of the production Telluride. You can see all the details on the production version here: All-New 2020 KIA Telluride Offers Rugged Luxury

If you want suicide doors, the only vehicle outside of those made by Rolls Royce would be the Lincoln Continental...

Thanks so much for responding. I appreciate the link to the Continental but in the market for the crossover so looks like i will be sticking with the Telluride for now.

i wish they could have stayed also. it was a nice design touch. if lincoln can do it, why can't kia? maybe there's a demographic of people who don't like that kind of thing.

too dangerous?
I've always heard them call "suicide" doors for a reason, so yeah I suppose that's part of it but now I just don't like they way they look/work. I feel the same way about the gull doors on the Tesla. Fine for some but I'll take normal doors please.

its another one of those styling things. you don't like quad exhaust pipes or suicide doors so it sounds like you're more about functionality than style when it comes to cars.

Suicide doors I do not like. Quad exhaust pipes I just don't care about. I'm fine with or without them but yes, I am very much in the function over style camp.

Aside from the safety issues I think one problem with suicide doors is they have to be opened wider than regular doors for the passengers to access the seat.

That's fine on $100k+++ cars that are rarely driven but a family car that will see 8 year olds climbing in and out of it in tight parking spots at supermarkets it would be a disaster of door dings, dents, and scratches.

Good points...

I like the fact that they open wide with suicide doors - easier to get in and out of if you are big or in a walker/wheelchair...can't they offer it either way?

My 1934 Ford street rod has suicide doors on both the front and rear doors. A few years ago, the drivers door opened at 60 MPH. The door wrapped around to the back door and nearly pulled me out with it. After limping the car home, doing extensive body worth, I installed suicide door locks that is like a dead bolt lock that latch at 7 MPH. So I do have experience with suicide doors and if the telluride came with them, I would clearly pass on this option. One near death experience is enough in one lifetime.

Some people want SUICIDE doors, some people want to MURDER OUT their Tellmeride. This is a FAMILY SUV for Christ's sakes! :ROFLMAO:

now , now , now it can be whatever people want it to be .............a fully spec'd SXL could be a psuedo Lux alt to a RR or X5/X7 with a few mods ..................dont be a grumpy:D old fart .................... ;)

With the second and third row down, you CAN fit a coffin without using the suicide doors, as long as the body inside is murdered.
