Order to delivery time

Expresso is available in the USA as well.
 
You are correct. I see it listed on Failcat today although I never saw it before when I looked.

Last week I viewed a video by Brantford(Ontario) Kia on the SX Telluride. This one had the Expresso interior which they said was only available in Canada. BTW Brantford Kia puts out YouTube videos on Kias several times a week and they are very informative(apparently not 100% accurate though).

Actually I would prefer the Dune interior but it was not brought up as an option by the dealer.
 
Picked up GG/Dune. Drove 55 miles already (getting 2nd COVID shot and running errands), and managed to cover nearly every driving condition already: city streets, highway, stop and go traffic jam, smooth streets, surface of the moon streets. Very impressed. Compared to our Acura MDX it rides better, absorbs bumps better, is quieter, the transmission is smoother, it has more comfortable seats (especially the headrests), has way better tech, roomier in the back...overall just more pleasant to drive. The only nitpick I have is that when approaching the car while it is locked, on the Kia you have to push the button to unlock it. The Acura unlocked just by sticking your hand in the door handle to open it...so one less step. Other than that, the Telluride is superior in every way so far. I only wish it had wireless CarPlay...am planning to buy an adapter.

It’s amazing how much information you get when you speak to the right person. I was just at the dealership and spoke with the sales manager and he couldn’t believe that the sales associate did not give me any details on my telluride. He pulled it up on his computer screen and even showed it to me. My Telluride that I ordered on March 30 was just finished being built yesterday in Georgia and it’s now on the train to either Montreal or Toronto and he says I should have it within three weeks in Ottawa. He even gave me the Vin number. And he even explain to me how the tow hitch is going to be installed To make sure it’s done right and not aftermarket nonsense.

When we signed up for our Telluride we were told that transport to Vancouver by train would take up to two weeks, including an additional leg over to Vancouver Island. Being that Ottawa is much closer to Georgia than Vancouver, 3 weeks to get to you seems like a cautious estimate. Sounds like the sales manager is very good to deal with.
 
Been meaning to post this sooner but I contacted my salesman on 5/17 to get confirmation I would receiving a 2022 since my order was not accepted by April deadline.

He said "Funny I just about to text you! Good news! It was accepted this morning, I do not have an ETA yet but I should in the next couple of days!"

After reading all the comments on the threads about this process, I didnt believe him, My skepticism was based how could he expect an ETA without VIN info first- so as I was in process of asking him this-

He said "Actually I just refreshed my vehicle locator and yours popped up! Your ETA is 6/30/21. I don't have a VIN yet, but I do have an internal number"

I said thanks and moved on to contact @StephenCantrelle via email with this information. He did in fact confirm that dealerships have the ability to acquire an ETA without VIN as long as they have that internal number but he (Stephen) couldn't track status without having the VIN.

So long story short, it appears my 3/29 order made the 2021 cut. It's funny now I'm more anxious to get the VIN now over knowing I have a ETA listed. I'll keep ya posted on this.

I know it’s a long shot, but have you tried just searching Failcat under your dealer for your specs and see what comes up?

I haven’t had much communication from my sales person, I’m thinking of emailing the sales manager directly and asking him. I don’t want to stir the pot for my sales guy but I placed an order on 4/26 and have not received any substantial info really.

What info are you expecting, if you know there have been no KFOS pick-ups since that date? I'm in the same boat, placed my order a couple of weeks ago, but since we know there have been no KFOS openings, and I was quoted 6-8 months, what's the point in pestering the salesman? I will probably ask for an update on my position on the waitlist once they get their KFOS allotment, but I don't expect them to have any other info until the order is picked up.

Will the number of VINs added to Failcat drop off as they transition to the 2022 building?

If so, that decrease would be an indicator we should be expecting something soon, I would assume.

I can see the perspective from both you and @arattle sides- as for my inquiry, it was based on some untimely issues recently that may alter my down payment. I was anticipating a 2022 after what I mentioned in my post. I'm still within the threshold of the initial projected time from order to delivery so I didn't expect anything sooner so no real need to keep in contact-but I also understand if you're paying that amount for a vehicle then it shouldn't be an issue if you want updates throughout the process. Everyone deals with situations like these differently. I'm just appreciative that we have this forum because it definitely helps with providing information we may or not be looking for at the time.

I too ordered mine on 4/26 and haven’t heard anything from the Dealership. They said they couldn’t determine now whether I’d be getting a 2021 or 2022, but they’re leaning now towards the 2022. I was told that I’m in that “hurry up and wait“ category because of the Dune Brown interior. They only gave me a model code of J4482 and the option group 47 because of the Dune Brown. I have no idea what they’re talking about because I ordered the Telluride SX in Glacial White Pearl, tow package, Dune Brown interior, the SX Prestige package with Nightfall, the tow package and carpeted floor mats. When I ordered it I was told it would take 12 to 16 weeks to come in and the higher quality packages come in sooner.
Is someone lying to me? 🤔 I’m actually following you since we ordered on the same day. 🤭
