If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Dune Brown Interior Feedback

Is it confirmed by multiple purchasers that Kia is now charging extra for Dune to the Moon?

I'm so glad I went Dune for my 2021 Telly :)

They've been charging extra for Dune for quite some time now.
We got in at the right time @JerseySXP

Still, if I ever get another Dark Moss Dune Brown Telly, I'll pay the few hundred more for such a good-looking interior!

Yea, I loved my 2020 dark moss with Dune. I think that’s the best combo. I’m now in the wolf grey nite fall that only comes with black interior. Did the trade last Wednesday.

Do you think in the 2022 Telluride SXP packages with the Dune Brown interior that they’ll finally make the “handles“ in the center console Dune Brown instead of black? With the gray interior the handles are gray. With the black it’s black. Am I the only one that thinks this should be corrected?

How does the Black interior compare to Dune Brown, in terms of cabin spaciousness? Did the DB interior feel lighter and more spacious?

In terms of cabin spaciousness I don’t notice a difference. I just like the dune contrast against the dark head liner, floor and center console. The wolf gray also has a light head liner. It’s all personal taste but still my fav is dune in the dark moss.

Ok, Dune to the Moon crew…help me convince my husband to change our order of an SX-P Everlasting Silver to Dune Brown vs the Black Nappa we’ve currently selected. How many of you have kids and large dogs with the Dune? And how is it holding up?

We’ve always had black interiors so the idea of switching to Dune is really not something he’s looking to budge on. He’s afraid that the Dune will start to look dirty and worn faster than the black—especially with our two energetic Labradors and our 8 month old son. I actually feel it will age & wear better than the black. Any feedback on how the Dune is holding up would be most helpful for my closing arguments. 😁

I can’t comment from personal experience, but I ordered dune for the very reason you suggested. Kids and dogs.
I can’t imagine the brown looking dirty very easily. It seems to be a very deep color.

@BlondeLabMom:

Your Everlasting Silver SX-P would look amazing with the Dune Brown Nappa Leather Seats.

@superk1977, feel free to jump in anytime :)

Some important points:

#1: 2 Labs and your 8 month old son: dirt, fibers, sand, dog hairs will show a lot more on Black Nappa leather seats than on Dune. Nappa Leather is easy to care for, so why not Dune to the Moon?

#2: Black Nappa Leather: you're stuck with a light colored headliner + A-pillars and just wait until your kids and dogs use it as a canvas. I learned my lesson after my Lexus LS 430's light-colored headliner was permanently marked by my young niece and nephew back in the day. Never again.

#3: Dune Brown Nappa Leather seats gets you the puppy-soft Dark Gray Premium Cloth Microfiber Headliner + A-pillars. Classy, cozy, amazing color combo that should age well.

#4: With Dune Brown, there's no lack of black: there's plenty of black trim around the seats (under the leather, plus the black polymer seat backs). The grab handles are still black, plenty of black trim to contrast with the Dune Brown. Perfect color combos for people who love dogs.

Ultimately, you're making the case for Dune to your husband.

Maybe show him the amazing sets of photos from real Dune Brown Telly owners on this thread? ;)

I had dune in my 2020 SXP and travelled with my 2 dogs often, one which sheds a good deal. Never, not once was the dune negatively affected but the carpet being black really showed the hair so I had to vacuum often. I traded that vehicle in on May 19th for a wolf gray with black everything. Haven’t had the dogs in yet but while I like the look, I loved the dark moss with dune. (Drove 48,600 miles on the 2020 and had it for 18 months)

Everlasting Silver and Dune is sexy AF. Just saying. As someone with a dog and 2 small kids, it hides the dirt/mess better than black. Make the switch, you won't regret it.

Yes, @DarkMossJustin, one of my big points is the light colored headliner with the black leather. I currently drive a Lexus ES330 with black interior and light headliner. I managed to get mascara on it back in the day (yes, I’m a klutz) and imagining what a little boy could do is worrisome. I feel the leather is easier to clean than the cloth of the headliner. You can still see a faint stain on mine.

Good point too on no lack of black accents. I tried showing him pics last night but it was about midnight and probably not the best time to discuss the car I’m obsessed with. Lol.
Thanks for the great points to remember!

Wonderful to know about the kids and dog! Definitely going to convince him. I think we’d really love it too. Thanks!

Just call the dealer and make the change yourself. Tell him you’ll get him a gift card to Jimmy Johns for keeping quiet. Don’t involve your husband on this critical matter. Husbands screw things up. Ask me how I know.

I can’t switch now, I’ve only had mine for 2 weeks!

ES with DB is amazing!! With people getting vaccines, we've been having more get togethers. That has led to me showing off the Telly to more people 😉. Everyone loves it and are shocked it's a Kia.

What color is your head liner?

Dune to the Moon comes with the dark gray premium cloth microfiber headliner.

That same awesome material wraps the A-pillars and part of the B-pillars in the dark gray color :)

Yep, great minds think alike. 😂 And since we’re ordering through NowCar, I’m the one who does all of the communication. He can’t stay mad that long and I’m sure once he sees how beautiful it looks all will be forgotten.
