• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I know i will sign on to continue my service w. Sirius when the trial period ends, just was curious if anyone would care to say what kind of deal they negotiated w. Sirius since I always hear they are rely flexible with their offers.

Thanks for the help!

SiriusXM just changed their plan names so my brain is a little crossed, but the best deal right now is $99 per year before fees (came to $128.15 after fees for me) for the Platinum Baba Booie Package (formerly All Access). You can register online for the first year, but you have to keep tabs on when your account expires so you know when to call back to renew at the discount rate. Otherwise you’ll get charged full price.

I’ve had XM since 2002 and I haven’t paid the retail price since around 2004. Sometimes you have to call back a few times but eventually you’ll get someone who will give you the discounted deals.

They offered me for $5 dollars a month. Not sure what package but I turned it down. Don't listen to it.

I use privacy.com to create a credit card number that can only be used once. So when they try to bill after the year expires the charges don't go through.

Interesting tactic. That method can only be used on pre-paid services right? Because if you are billed after usage, I would imagine they would send a debt collection company after you for unpaid services if they are unable to bill a working credit card.

Just keep telling them you want the intro promotion pricing. It's as cheap as they come. A couple tips

  • It's usually only 6 months so you need to do it more frequently.
  • Tell them your not interested if they will not honor it.
  • Wait until it stops working before initiating contact, (Generally will get an email or mailing, even a phone call) It also shows you are somewhat ambivalent about it.
  • DO NOT give them a credit card on file, just allow a one time payment only. If they have one on file, your bill will instantly go to full price and renew when its up. If they don't they have to contact you to renew.
  • If you do have it for months after your so called end date and renew, they often try to collect this amount again at full price. Tell them to waive these fee's and you are only paying for the 6 months intro.
I have been doing this for all my cars for over 20 years. Yes its a bit of a pain but when you see what SiriusXM cost for 4 cars at full retail, you will understand.

I haven't done Sirius in a couple years but google how to get the best Sirius price. I remember there are a couple layers of promotions they will offer you and you have to turn each of them down before they finally offer their best price. I think I was paying $5-8/month. Definitely don't pay full price and take note of the exact date your promotion ends and put a reminder on your calendar to cancel or renegotiate your next promotion.

I got the Select package (now music and entertainment) for $60 + taxes/fees last November. The MSRP was close to $200 according to the renewal notice. Anyway, just go on the chat and tell them you want to cancel your service. You will get transferred to the 'saves' queue and will then offer you much better pricing.

I do the prepaid annual service, but you can set up a total payment cap for your virtual card. So if you know one month of service (plus taxes and "royalty" charges) is $X, you can set the cap on the card to be 12x. I use it anywhere that I have a contracted rate that will increase substantially if I don't terminate or renew.

You should never pay more than $5/mo tops for Siriusxm. You can always get them to get down to those prices, its just a bit of work usually every 6 months.

That’s if you want the basic package. If you want the All Access/Platinum package, the best you’re gonna do is $50 for 6 months or $99 for the year before fees.

I’ve always gotten All Access as I’m a big Howard Stern fan, although the show has been awful for the past couple of years, so I may consider downgrading.

Just finished online conversation with Jasmine at Sirius. I was paying $21.76 (including taxes, etc) per month for the Select package. Switched me over to All Access/Platinum package for $8.25/month ($10.57 including tax, etc). Process was easy. No hassle. No funny business. Can cancel at any time. Good for 12-months.

I always tell them I have room in my budget for $5 a month and they always give me a price around that amount. I've had it for over 10 yrs now.

i got an offer $2 to extent for another 3 months.. not sure if I want to subscribe after it.. I rather use spotify.

One year I was for sure going to cancel because I didn’t not listened to one station. They gave me 6 months for free.

I've been lurking here on this forum for about a year now, and I'm not sure if I've seen anybody mention loading up a USB thumb drive with your music, and plugging that into the USB socket in the front of the console. When we bought our 2014 Sorento, we used the free Sirius on a road trip from Chicago to Daytona, about 17 hours each way. We switched around a few stations, and settled in on a couple rock stations. We used the time to listen to those for the trip, and got tired of hearing the same group of songs, pretty much day after day. Within 6 days, we decided we just use music we already have, and listen to the music we wanted to listen to. I've got enough music on there that no song would be repeated in a week long road trip.
The thumb drive I'm using is not your typical 2 inch long stick that would probably get broken off by a phone put in the cubby. It's a mini drive, and only sticks out of the socket about 1/2 inch. I stick it in and it just disappears into the shadows. I've even tried a 500gb solid state drive and that worked too. When my Telluride gets here, I'm going to figure out a spot to put that SS drive, and just run a cable from the USB socket to where ever I hide the drive. I'll have to see how well I can navigate the folders on the drive with this new audio system. It worked ok on the Sorento, but wasn't the easiest to move around. Once you get to a spot you wanted to listen to, it will just play continually in the order the files are on the drive.

Same deal. I did it thinking I might use it to listen to an NFL game once. In hindsight, I'd rather have kept the $2.

What is this "virtual card" you speak of?
