• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Be careful with the keyfob if it's attached to a ring with other keys.

One week into ownership, my wife lost the electronic portion of the fob. The physical key was still attached to her key ring but the rest was gone. Luckily, it fell off at home and she found it but it could have been a lot worse.

I also have VW and BMW fobs where the physical key rotates out when you push a button. Those are a bit of a pain as it happens in my pocket, but at least they can't be separated.

I'm probably going to drill a little hole in the side of the fob and run a zip tie through it and round the physical key, but I'll try to figure out another modification first.

The release button must have been depressed somehow, or the latch is broken.

I use a case that goes around the whole key fob. Of course, I do have to pry it apart on the rare occasion I need the physical key. Encased the key fob
Yes, obviously the release button was pressed. Thanks for the link to the case. That's a good solution.

If your wife prefers something different, there are leather ones on etsy too. They look super nice, but just not in my budget. Good luck!
