My husband and I placed our Telluride order with a local dealer four months ago, choosing our options with great care. We were given no reason by the dealer to think we might be unable to get what we ordered, with the understanding it would take time for our desired vehicle to arrive. We just heard from the dealer that our vehicle would arrive imminently. The dealer shared the vehicle details and we immediately noticed that fully six of the options were not what we ordered - three we hadn’t ordered were included and three we had ordered were not. The dealer - who left it to us to notice the disparity - is now saying they can do nothing about the options we hadn’t ordered and that we can sell them privately if we wish. With regard to the options we did order, they offered to a place an order with their parts department and charge us Kia’s price for them.
Has anyone had such an experience? We’re very discouraged that we are being expected to pay for options we don’t want to the tune of more than $600 and to pay additional for the options that should have been included in the first place. But we also know that if we balk, the dealer can sell the vehicle immediately given the demand and possibly at greater cost. We welcome your advice!
