Installed Proximity Door Lock/Unlock Module

Finally got around to doing the install this weekend, and all went pretty close to perfect thanks to the instructions.

Works as advertised and already loving it.

So I got inspired by @GreekWiz after he said he installed his proximity door unlock module today. I tried to install also and got confused with some actions, but @GreekWiz and @Lith_SXPN were able to answer my questions. Thanks guys. After installation, approaching the car unlocked, but didn't lock when I moved away. Read through this thread and saw where someone mentioned it and someone suggested pressing the trunk open button on the fob 4times. Did it and it worked like a charm. Everything is up and running now. Happy I was able to do it myself.

Anybody do the install of the ISG/Auto-Hold module yet?

Any instructions/tips for removing the console would be appreciated...

Wires on the module are:

Red/Yellow - 12v with ignition on to Pin 3 of the F52 connector

Black - Ground

Green - Auto-Hold to Pin 4 on F51 connector

Orange - ISG to Pin 8 on F51 connector

Was hoping for something in regard to getting the console apart to be able to do the wiring...

Have some pages from a service manual, but they seem a bit vague and was hoping for tips from someone who has actually taken the console apart...

It depends how fast you walk away, 5 seconds max if you walking at a decent pace.

I know I mentioned this before, but I love this thing.

Ok proximity module folks...
My module has stopped locking when I walk away. Still unlocks on approach. Started this morning when had it in for a tire patch. Is there some remote reset thst they might have messed up? TIA

Have you tried toggling the setting via the remote?

You can disable and later enable the proximity locking and unlocking function using the following procedures. You can disable if the car is to go for repairs, or you are going to wash the car.

• Disable/enable by short pressing trunk button 3 times.

It's really not that hard, if you have the tap-its. You could always have a stereo place do the install. (I would ask them to do use the tap-its also)

That was the plan even though I was little nervous but then when I got the car it came with vibration issues and now I am fighting with kia I rather not make any mods and give them reason to blame me for issues.

Lol congrats! I still haven’t gotten the nerve to install mine. Something about electronics just scares me . Maybe if someone posted a DIY Video I would get the courage to install it and not mess it up.
