• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just got home from a road trip to SoCal (attended my newly minted Marine's graduation - ooorah!) and after driving 500 miles each way and driving all over San Diego, some comments and things....

--It is super annoying that their is no bottle/cup holder big enough for hydroflasks.
--When it works, the smart cruise control is really cool - however, about 80% of the time, it didn't work for me. Kept giving me a message that conditions were not met. I *think* it has to do with the fact that I have a problem with my GPS connection - I have a service appointment next week. This also affects the onboard clock, which is almost always wrong or doesn't even show. Also the compass doesn't work.
--They really need to get split screen working with Android Auto. Since I can't use the Kia maps (and I prefer Google anyhow) - It would be cool to have SXM in the split.
--They should allow the Radio screen to be shown in the dash info screen. My GMC truck has a screen for this and it is handy when you have something else on the center console screen.
--Not sure if they can be adjusted, but my windscreen washer nozzles spray way wide and high, leaving streaks of neon blue washer fluid all over the car...
--Even though it has the most room in the class, there is annoyingly little room behind the 3rd row compared to the old minivan.
--The ride is much nicer than the old 2007 Odyssey - not sure if that is physical age, or newer tech - but it was a pleasure to cruise down the road in.
--Despite the clamor to buy these things, there are relatively few on the road - in 6 days I only saw maybe 20 of them..
--The US Kia rear cargo mat is stupid. It is only really useful with the 3rd row down. With it up the fold takes up too much room, and it doesn't split. Anybody want to buy it from me, I'll make a good deal (will list in other forum later)
--When driving uphill (like the I-5 Grapevine) - sport mode is much better than Smart or Eco - too much hesitation when trying to pass... Eco is great for cruising though...
--Still trying to determine how many of the beeps I want to keep on. Seems like it was always talking to me :)
--I'm a fan of the side view camera in the dash though. Need to figure out how to add that to my GMC Sierra :)
--My dad tried to one up me with his Subaru Ascent Limited... Every feature he tried to show me I already had, and then some... except he has an air pump built in.... Otherwise, I couldn't find anything in the Subaru that made it compelling competition...
--Got my license plates today - now I have to figure out how to get the sticky stuff off the inside of the front windscreen from the temporary registration.
--Even with some of the negative comments below, I still love my Telly.. no regrets...

Thanks for letting me ramble :)

Nice summary 👌 I agree on all the above. I think since it got such rave reviews most think the car is virtually perfect which sadly its not quite. Darn close!

I bet you are accidentally flipping the toggle to resume speed rather than set speed when it tells you this. Make sure you are set a speed first. Once a speed is set, then you can resume it. 😊

If you haven’t, make sure you have split screen enabled for Android Auto. Unplug your phone and go to Setup > device connections > Android Auto. Make sure you check enable split screen.

Then you’ll have access to elements of the Kia UI when you are connected to AA rather than wasting that right 1/3 of the screen.

I'll have to wait until I'm back out on the road for the cruise, but thank you for the setting on split screen - I totally missed that one :) Excellent.

Thanks for the split screen tip! The useless third of the window ire

I've used AA with pretty good success. The only head-scratcher for me is trying to get back to the Kia home screen! How does one go about accomplishing that from the AA acreen? I finally just programmed the Star Button to Home. It doesn't lessen my curiosity though! Any ideas?

Thanks for the split screen tip for Android Auto! The dark third of screen ired me.

Any idea on how to get back to the Kia home screen while in Android Auto screen? I couldn't find a way to do that from within AA. I finally set the Star button to Home as a quick fix.
Is there another way without having to hit the actual buttons to navigate back to Home?

When you are on the AA homescreen, one of the icons will say Kia. That’ll take you back to the main Kia interface.

Alternatively, you can always hit the maps or setup hard buttons to get out of AA and then just hit the home icon at the top left of the screen at that point.

I just hit the Radio button, then use the Home button at the top.... :)

Thanks @bruesjoh04 ! Yes, I explored leaving AA via hard buttons. It's the ever so *not* intuitive Kia icon that I did not try! 🙄

🙂 Yes, that is certainly one way to escape!
I just felt there had to be a way to get there from the AA interface! I thought I had tried it all. I was obviously mistaken.

We just got back from a rainy road trip on I-10 (thanks, Nicholas!). When the rain was really heavy, SCC would refuse to start. Which is probably the safest course anyway... if it's raining that hard, the driver should be fully engaged.

Anyway, you might also want to check that the sensors/radars are physically free of dust and any other impediments. Good luck. SCC is really a joy when it works well.
