off, dealer says this is normal. I don't know??? once I signed the contract I became a RED HEADED STEPCHILD. Is it the SUV or just me?
idiot lights are warning lights that come on when you first start the vehicle and when there is something wrong, like the warning that you are low on gas, ABS needs service. just lights that help remind you. I don't remember what the steering was like, it was a test drive and I thought it was just me.
Hmmm...the key issue sounds like a new one and definitely isn’t normal. If they replaced the battery there is some problem with the immobilizer but I’m assuming you know that. According to the manual when the car starts automatically the auto stop/start light will blink 5 times. The conditions for auto restart are in the manual so this could be normal functioning assuming it’s only blinking 5 times during an auto restart. If the dealer is unable or willing to help you resolve your concerns I would find a new one and have them take a look.do you work for Kia, it sounds like it? I said in the first statement that I bought a Telluride. yes they appear while I'm driving and the related function turns off as the amber lights come on. the lane assist is on, but that has nothing to do with the warning light that are coming on. The Stop and go light comes on green when it is working and flashes Amber when there is a problem, this also shuts off the stop and go function. One of the other lights is the amber key light that comes on even after they changed the phob battery. the key light indicates that there is a problem with the positioning sensor/circuit. That is my understanding after reading the main operating manual.
Your opinion is the only one that matters. so if during the test drive you thought it was just you that should be good enough right?idiot lights are warning lights that come on when you first start the vehicle and when there is something wrong, like the warning that you are low on gas, ABS needs service. just lights that help remind you. Try deactivating the auto start stop and drive it. Let us know if you see any warnings. BTW, I do not work for Kia. Just want to help - along with all of the other members of this wonderful forum.I guess it's me, I'll just shut up. Grin and bear it. THANKS
100% agree. Thank youThing learned along the way... A friend was always getting the "LOW AIR PRESSURE" indicator for tires... He almost had a heart attack trying to figure it out. I found that he had a full sized spare. Guess what... it was the indicator on that spare that caused the alert... So ...air in..alert stopped. Personally I don't really like them... If you can't check your tire pressure on your own once in a while... take the bus. We rely on too many GEE GAWS to let us know things... oil change notice, fuel notifications, lol even indicators that tell you your windshield fluid is low... Try some ZEN and get to know your vehicle a bit better. Do visuals..like tires, even check fluids on your own. Hell, saw a message in the forums of people picking up a BRAND NEW T-Ride only to find fluid level indicators were going off...WHY?? you say??? The DEALER didn't check them when they off loaded for Prep. This is the vehicle that you will depend on to get you to work and the kids to school...aren't they worth just taking a few minutes to do a check?
What does cause me apprehension is the size of the owners manual that comes with the T-Ride... Who will read it? Not sure. One thing I have always done with EVERY vehicle I have owned..be it car, truck or Motorcycle... I bought a mechanics book like what Haynes or Chilton's. You would be surprised what help you can get from them. Whe I sold or traded them ...the manual went with it for the next owner.
