If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Order placed today!

Hi guys, well today I just signed a contract to trade in my 2021 Palisade Calligraphy (which needs a new transmission after only 8 months) for a 2022 Telluride Nightfall in Wolf Grey. Looking forward to getting this vehicle in about 2-3 months time. I am in the Toronto Canada area and looking forward to reading all about your experiences and seeing your photos of your vehicles!

Congrats!! Wow new transmission and only 8 months? Hope this isn’t a common thing.

Offered a Dark Moss/Black SXP @ MSRP Monday….had to turn it down because no Dune!

I cancelled my original order as it was at a lower volume dealership and likely wouldn’t get picked up until November. Reordered at a much higher volume dealership that, according to the very helpful and honest salesperson, has been getting most SXs in ~8 weeks (though some as long as 12 weeks). Ordered 8/18 and he expects it to get picked up by KFOS in Sep. Fingers crossed, but it seems a little too good to be true.
What dealership did you order from?

The cancelled order was from Huffines Kia McKinney. I currently have orders with Huffines Kia Corinth and Moritz Kia Hurst.

Moritz Hurst gets a few more Tellys per month than Huffines Corinth but has a mandatory $898 dealer add (prep, tint, and nitrogen). Huffines has no adds; both sell at MSRP.

I've had an order in at Huffines since just a few days prior to your original order, but similarly was quoted 3-5mo. Huffines was the only DFW dealer willing to sell at MSRP back in July but I haven't checked around since. Visited Moritz in Hurst in July also, was told the $898 fee was not negotiable, so went with Huffines. How are you able to determine volume of these dealerships vs. each other?

Go to Failcat.com and you can search for dealerships. Huffines McKinney has gotten 285 Tellurides since Failcat started scraping for VINs, while Moritz Hurst has gotten 576 in the same time period.

Thank you for that. I just now figured out that I can click the VIN link and find out the corresponding code for each dealer, as when I search by name it doesn't seem clear.

Is there any consensus on how long it's taking from the time a VIN is assigned until delivery? I am #22 so guessing my order is picked up in the next few weeks but no idea how long to expect afterward...

Doesn’t look like my order got picked up this month, unfortunately. Next month perhaps 🤞🏻

Hey, I’m in Toronto as well. I’m curious as to what dealer you ordered from and what kind of ETA they gave…

I ordered mine in Oshawa and was given a 2-3 month wait time. Only 2 weeks down lol...did you happen to purchase any warranties etc?

I did not… yet. I put a deposit down, got approval for financing, and ordered the vehicle. I’m assuming the warranties can still be arranged once the vehicle arrives. 😬

I ordered on July 31, and was also given an estimate of 8-10 weeks, but there’s not been a single update since. I’ve asked a few times, but I’ve only been told I’ll be updated when new info comes along. Today is 7 weeks to the day.

It’s hard to be patient!!!

Just cancelled my order and placed with Mortiz. Thanks for the recommendation. 3 months vs 6 to 9 is doable.

Ugh, this waiting is killing me. The longer it takes, the more I find myself considering other options, such as the Sorento X-Line, Sienna AWD, or even something a bit sportier or that I can modify.

Must….hold……out….

Just hope the Telluride really does live up to the hype!

You have to resist. It’s well worth it!! Unfortunately I didn’t have to wait. I just walked into one local dealer and they sure didn’t have what we wanted and they where charging 7k up to 10k which I sure wasn’t happy about and wasn’t going to pay the mark up plus everything that was arriving was already sold. Luckily I didn’t give up and called the next closest dealer and was able get it for $75 over MSRP.

As Tom Petty said, Waaaaaiting...is the hardest part.

I did also look at the Sorento X-line (love the green) but ultimately the wait was more than worth it. This is by far the largest and least sporty vehicle I've ever owned, but I get such a rush of pleasure driving it every time, that it makes me forget about sports cars and luxury cars that I've driven. Packed it up to the gills, with the bike rack in the hitch for a camping trip this past weekend....nothing I've ever owned before would be able to handle all the junk we had to bring. Hold strong, you'll be there soon!

Hi sprengBoard,
Are you able to get level 2 info about your order from Huffines Corinth? like the KOrder form, or KFOS form..or any info about people ahead of you? I am trying hard to get that info, but unsuccessful. Albeit, I placed my order only on Sep 24. Thanks in advance!

Mostly negative. My salesperson was unaware of the details of the ordering process, and I had to explain to basics of it to him (KDealer, KFOS, etc.). This was his response:

Interesting, I appreciate the information, since we don't handle the orders that isn't something i've ever inquired on how it works. I haven't had anyone ask yet either so i'm glad our interactions has shed some light on that process.

I do know, on Kdealer that isn't something I have the ability to see, I can really do vehicle locates and certain vehicle info lookups. Between management, sales, service, our profiles all allow us to have different access by profile, example when I left service and came to sales I lost the ability to look up warranty coverage or warranty info.

He did offer to have his manager reach out if I have further questions, but I never got a call or email from them.

The only tidbit of info I've been able to get from him was my place in line (32) as of Sep 14.

Thanks sprengBoard..at least, I am not the only one. if they are right about 32, you have about a month more. As, per failcat, Huffines-Corinth have averaged 25-30 a month in last 12 months.

Got a call earlier today that a local dealership has a GWP / gray SX AWD (non-Prestige, Nightfall, or Towing) coming in just a few weeks that doesn't have a home yet. Unfortunately, the dealership has a mandatory $1,898 fee for prep/tint/nitrogen and I'd have to add a tow hitch. All in all, the GWP Telluride they have would only be about $500 less than the SXP w/ Dune & hitch I have on order so I had to pass.....

Another local dealership has a Sorento X-Line in Wolf Gray w/ Rust interior (no markup or dealer adds). Tempting, but it's no Telluride...
