• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The UVO subscription is only good for one year starting from the day you put your deposit down

So I think its important to remember that there are different levels of UVO if I am understanding their subscription service correctly. There is the Essentials, eco and Luxe and I am assuming that the Luxe is what we get with the SX model and it might be the same across all the Telluride models. It will certainly be a cost for the service after the first year as I verified this with my dealership but they stated that Kia had not released pricing information on the service yet but he expected something in the neighborhood of $50-$60 a year. The below is text I copied from the following website for reference:

Purchase/lease of a new 2020 Kia Telluride vehicle with UVO link includes a complimentary 1 year subscription starting from new vehicle retail sale/lease date as recorded by the dealer. After your complimentary 1 year UVO link subscription expires, continued access to UVO link will require a paid subscription at the then current subscription rate or your use of UVO link will immediately terminate. Use of UVO is subject to agreement to the UVO Privacy Policy available at https://owners.kia.com/us/en/privacy-policy.html and Terms of Service available at https://owners.kia.com/us/en/terms-of-service.html. UVO link transferrable to subsequent owner during the original UVO link service term. Only use UVO link when safe to do so. The Kia Access with UVO link App is available from the App Store® or Google Play™ Store. Kia Motors America, Inc. reserves the right to change or discontinue UVO link at any time without prior notification or incurring any future obligation. Message and data rates may apply. Cellular and GPS coverage is required to use most features. UVO link features may vary by model, model year, and trim level. Features, specifications, and fees are subject to change. For more on details and limitations, visit https://owners.kia.com or your authorized Kia dealer. Google and logos are trademarks of Google, Inc. App Store is a service mark of Apple, Inc.
That’s not true. We have Kia access...all others are for specific vehicles. Lux for k900, eco for the EVs, and so on. I don’t even use this piece of garbage app since it takes for ever and is buggy as hell. I wouldn’t use it free OR paid. Kia crapped their pants on this one. If the app was mind blowingly good or actually worked I can seem the scheme potentially working. It’s the same as these new video game publishers selling half baked games then trying to sell subscriptions to get the rest of the game’s features. That has not been working out to well for them and I have no clue why Kia and other manufacturers think it’s a viable option for anything. I had a 2013 Cadillac ATS 3.6 Premium and it had remote start on the fob AND the app and the app features were totally free....I’m a millennial and I NEVER even used the app....not sure who they’re targeting with this crap

Did it tell you a cost

of the app after the first year? When I purchased mine I also paid for a car starter to be put on. I go next weekend to download the app but I’m going to ask if I can just have the car starter put on so I don’t have to pay a yearly fee like I have to with sirus
I’m assuming the remote start is 3rd party and doesn’t integrate into the fob so you have to carry 2?

Where is the Uvo expiration date available? I’ve looked all through the app an can’t find this detail. Is it on the website, in the infotainment, or??

In the Kia Access app, tap the i next to your car name. Expiration is on the next page.

No car starters for the telluride. Uvo app is only free for a year then can cost up to $30 a month. Sirius is only $5 a month and well worth it

I voiced my concerns to Kia HQ reps yesterday. I have a feeling that there’s lots of internal debate going on. Hopefully they will reconsider. I also suggested that they add more info to the app such as fuel level, etc. right now the app is fairly useless.

The app offers approximately zero features that are useful outside of remote start. I wouldn’t pay $.10 a month for it in its current form.

Frankly if they charge $30 mo it is pure greed and I hope nobody signs up. I would $36-50 a year at most and would prefer it be free for more than one year . Heck my Nest service is entirely FREE, I can start, stop and adjust my ac remotely, Ring Service is $3 mo. Etc. So whoever thought $360 a year for a simple api to the car is not being realistic.

Thanks, found it. Mine expires on the 1-year anniversary of purchase date. I won’t pay for it after that, although I sure hope they’re not linking Car Play to a Uvo subscription. They list Apple Car Play as a “feature” of Uvo?!

Only thing is that uvo on the car is using 4G signal which does cost them a little. I agree thought it’s not worth up to $30 a month. I feel like $5 a month at most but they need to fix a lot with it and add some features.

You know that is an excellent point.

I'd be willing to pay up to $90 per year, but no more than that.

In a nutshell, they really just wanted our opinions what we liked (and didn't like) about various aspects of the interior and exterior. We didn't see any future prototypes or anything new.

I hope you told them about dealerships :D

Most definitely … they are not too happy about the situation and the availability of supply. But because dealers are independently owned (not company owned like Tesla) they have little influence over what happens pricing-wise. I'm sure they know that bad dealers hurt the brand as most consumers cannot separate the two (IMHO). With the Palisade coming out, hopefully this will ease up demand for the Telluride for those that find the Hyundai version not fugly (which I do not!).

When I activated mine in Canada it was good for 5 years.
I just ordered my SXL here in Ottawa and my dealer told me that UVO was free for the first 5 years in Canada. Can't get black wheels but we can start our vehicles remotely for 5 years for free, lol

I just received this email letting me know I have UVO for one year, ultimate package, which I already knew. But, Instill can’t find pricing for the packages even though the email has a link to find info
on the Kia Owner’s portal. There’s a Uvo manual on the portal, but no package detail I could find. Anyone else get this and/or find the package detail?

I got the same email with no answers on future costs or news on how they intend to improve to the services. I take it they are getting a lot of questions about this and are waiting to formulate a corporate response.
