• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Good day everyone! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my vehicle and have been going back and forth between PPF and ceramic coating. My choice for ceramic will be System X. Wondering if the PPF nowadays is a better option. System X does generate a car fax certification but I’m not really concerned with that. I just don’t want to spend any more time than I have to with my giant bag of pricey home detailing supplies anymore! I’m in MA and looking for any input or recommendations! Thanks!

PPF will help protect your paint from rock chips, ceramic will not. Ceramic will protect the paint from swirl marks while washing your vehicle, but you will still have to wash your vehicle. I have PPF and use Turtle Wax Graphene spray wax.

Got ours undercoated with NHOil Boss Wax, which product did you use?

There are long discussions about this on this forum. PPF and ceramic really are for different purposes. PPF is to protect against chips and abrasions. Ceramic doesn't do that; instead it creates a hydrophobic layer on your paint. That keeps it looking great for a longer time between washes (which should be done by hand, or at least with a touchless wash). It may help to think of ceramic coating as an alternative to waxing, rather than to PPF. So they have different purposes, and if you want to do only one you'll need to decide what you're really trying to accomplish.

Yeah, I’m all set with the days of hand washing my vehicles and wasting hours trying to achieve a result that has to be repeated. So I think I may do both ceramic and PPF. Time is one of the most important commodities to me these days!
