• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does the steering wheel ever vibrate / buzz to notify?

We went to test drive a 2020 awd telluride. All was great, but while we were on the highway, i felt a brief but distinct vibration (like a cell phone vibration) in the steering wheel coupled with an audible notification 'ding' from the system (almost like door ajar).

We drive old vehicles, 2002 and 2006. At first I was worried that the vehicle had a big issue. That made me think it wasnt an issue but maybe intentional. But i couldnt replicate it despite trying and the sales guy had no idea what it could be.

The navigation was on. I was trying to test its power within high speed range so i had just completed accelleration from like 60 to 80 mph. There was a car ahead, but did not seem unnaturally close to me.

It was NOT a constant vibration (tire balance). It very much seemed like a notification but nothing seemed to pop out on the screens.

Any ideas? I heard there are some smart driving features like if you drift lanes or maybe get too close to a car infront of you so hoping its something like that.

Driver assist warnings could have been set to early? So when the car thought you were approaching the leading car at a high rate of speed it could have been the forward collision warning. Usually there is a blinking image on the center cluster screen that accompanies the audible and vibration alerts. 5ECA462C-5C0B-419C-A090-EC2B352ABDDE.webp

Another reason for the audible and vibration warnings are usually when you signal with a car in your blind spot, and when you are reversing and rear-cross traffic is detected.

If you drive on a lane marker, it will vibrate and gently steer you back (assuming the assist is turned on). There are a few advanced driving assists that vibrate the steering wheel like @Tellthemride said, including blindspot warning.
