• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Newbie to the Forum...and to KIA.
Love the Telly!
Except for one issue.
About a month after purchase (new 2021 LX) the backup beeps stopped beeping.
When I shift to reverse, it'll beep once....and that's it.
What's really frustrating is when I brought back to dealer service, the official conclusion....
"No codes in system showing. No system faults. Tech tested backup sensors. Working as designed."
This even after I demonstrated that it doesn't beep....as I was about to back into one of their new Stinger's:cool:
Any advice would be appreciated!

Are you backing up closely to large objects or other cars? PDW proximity sensors will not beep if you are not near anything, even in reverse gear. How far away were you from the Stinger?

Have you checked the sensors don’t have mud or other debris covering them on the bumper?

They worked as designed for first month, then stopped. No matter how close to car... or wall... or any large object behind vehicle, no warning beeps. Sensors are clean and no physical damage. That was first thing service dept. checked.

There are settings in the driver assist menu to silence a lot of the alerts. Off the top of my head I don't remember if proximity sensors are one of those...I know I can disable audible alerts for blindspot monitors, for example.

Not trying to be stupid at all with my response. The selector in the pic is engaged I assume, since you indicated you get one beep? I accidentally turn mine off sometimes when cleaning the interior.

Yes, that was the first thing I checked.

Yes, checked that first.
